Lan Zhan rarely speaks, if you want to know what he thinks, just look at his expressions, like when he was with Jiang Cheng (the one who stabbed Wei Wuxian) I noticed that you were really confused during the Lan Zhan/Wei Wuxian moment, normally the series is a "boys love" (relationship between two mens) but since it's Chinese and China does not accept this kind of relationship , they removed any obvious moments that could be romantic but they still kept some moments to show that yes Lan Zhan/Wei Wuxian are attracted to each other and later in love with each other so you'll see many moments like this where you'll feel like there's more than friendship between them You also wondered what Wei Wuxian did with his improvised flute, at first he just wanted to help the children with the statue then Wen Ning arrived, he was surprised because Wen Ning was supposed to have died at the same time as him so he really didn't expect to see him... Without spoiler, Wen Ning was actually controlled by Wei Wuxian because he created Wen Ning (I can't say more, you'll see later in the episodes)

I couldn’t have said it better myself! Angelique did a great job describing it and I was also going to tell you about the fact that it’s a BL, boy’s love series based on a novel. Censorship is strong in China though and they had to cut out a lot of the “obvious” romance in order to make sure this made the cut.
