Another pixel art experiment I was doing in parallel with commission. There's a bit of a backstory I have to tell to explain how I got inspired to make it. I'm a big fan of AVGN and I very much loved his Bad Game Cover Art little series and especially RollerBlade Racer episode (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3sPjSFk-8o), the way Nerd describes 80s culture while talking about the cover combined with perfectly selected music just overfills me with joy and thrill, sometimes it's just hard for me to hold tears while watching this episode. I had AVGN episodes marathon playing as a background for my work once again lately and when I was reminded about RollerBlade Racer episode once more I got an idea that I need to make a parody of this game's cover with my characters in a pixel art style, animated and with music from this AVGN episode added. Finding the music was the most essential part, if I hadn't found it I just wouldn't start this project because I REALLY wanted to see it with the music and yet it was one of the hardest parts. Luckily I found the list of all stock music used in AVGN episodes, it turned out that James uses a lot of stock music and most of it is from Fresh the Music Library label. So I found names and authors of all three compositions used in this episode but couldn't find the music itself anywhere. I spent almost an hour in frustration and almost gave up, finding anything from this label appeared to be much harder than from KPM or other stock music labels I discovered in past, when suddenly by some miracle I came across some odd Japanese site with numerous Fresh albums uploaded. Download was allowed only for registered users and site had problems with registration so I even learned how to rip the music from the site with developer tools in browser and only after all these hoops were jumped through I finally got able to start working on the project.

In fact it's nothing much special and new but I had another good practice drawing pencil sketch for a pixel art for the second time and also trying a more complex level of that jiggly animation I used only with my OC portraits. All the background stuff was just drawn over the original cover, not that it was super easy but yet nothing worthy to mention and describe in detail. I was very much satisfied with the results. Giving my characters more life and unleashing more 80-90s culture into the world of furry art with them always feels great.

Sound version can be seen in attachments.

Also tried to make a pink label version, I loved the way James described that hot pink color being "so pink that it actually bleeding into the graphics" and I wanted to recreate it too.

Despite I usually hold my pixel-art Patreon-exclusive for at least one month, I want to make an exception here and post this one publicly right away, I really want to do it.
