Hello loves!

Althing coming tomorrow.

I wrote about this in the Graveside Thing Post from a couple days ago but it was among a gazillion other photos and things - PRIVATE PRACTICE is happening again! I’ll probably do one in November as well, so hold the phone.

This is a patron-only show at our little venue in Woodstock, NY…and I’m going to just use you all as listening little guinea pigs to try out my new material. I’ve written 3-4 new songs for the upcoming dresden dolls record in the past few months and they need road-testing … I also work well with deadlines. So if I have a show - I gotta work on this shit.

We are gonna put the FIREPLACE into practice as well (it’s cold) and Liz has been experimenting with Fancy Mocktails so watch out. Feel feel to bring food to share (just don’t leave anything behind!!)

Last night I ambushed the Charming Disster show at Graveside and played one of my brand-new tunes (I finished it only three days ago) for the audience at the end of intermission.

It feels so so good to do this. I need ears. Otherwise the music just doesn’t feel finished or right.

AND FUCK ME THIS NEW DOLLS RECORD IS GOING TO BE GOOD.

The private practice show is Monday,

October 9th

at 6:30pm

at Graveside Variety, 33 Rock City Rd, Woodstock.

There’s only about 50 tickets.

Some photos from last night at graveside…this one from Liz. I had to crowdsource a pair of reading glasses because I AM OLD. THANKS TIM.

Backstage selfie.

And the amazing artist Niki McQueen who has been doing all the poster art for the dolls mailed this from South Africa as a surprise and I nearly wept. This is “Keeper of the Light”, the painting that awed me and inspired me to reach out to her and commission her for the first dolls show.

Thanks to Michael and Liz who also collabed on this surprise. I love my team so much.

We are gonna frame this and put it somewhere important in the venue.

Charming Disaster were GREAT:

Ps a reminder to all the locals to get on the graveside mailing list. There’s actually a great show TONIGHT (Friday) if you wanna see some Addy Idol and co play some beautiful quiet indie rock. Gravesidevariety.Com

Amanda, these photos are awesome! I am looking forward to this so incredibly much! I can't even begin to say how much your art, your music, and your musings mean to me and have spoken to me throughout my life. This is going to be icing on my birthday cake! Ah! I'm ridiculously happy! I tried looking through the event page, are cameras allowed? I'd love to be able to take some while there but I understand if not. Can't wait! <3

Old hell! You look great in those photos. You look very happy as well. Wonder if I can transfer to Albany so I can hang out in your new community. Cheers

Thanks for the behind the scenes look! So jealous of the locals. I cannot wait for the new album. I get chills even thinking about new music!

Charming Disaster had me from the moment I walked through the doors of Colony for the Dolls show a month ago to the strains of 'Disembodied Head.' <3 Love them so much.

Ok so the picture of you holding the painting is essentially EVERYTHING… the look, the embrace, the acceptance, the love, the fucking perfect Lighting! I mean. YES. … Hell. Fuck. Yes. And Fuck. The Godamn Shit Yes. Which is to say, YES … I approve of this sacred Healing. I support this Community. I anoint (?) this Communion of heARTS. Carry on stewards, sprites, elves, and yes even gremlins (remember there are those grems that cuddle and those that … well … those that most simply do not have the skills (yet 🫰🏼) … we’re in this together! 💜✨😇
