And everyone else...ENJOY THE SHOW.

Many of you from the old days will remember that what makes the dolls shows TRULY SPECIAL is our habit of roping in additional performers, buskers, artists, performances artists, poets, and WHOEVER wants to bring their performance skills and offerings to the table before the shows, creating a circus art-house party vibe in the venue before the shows!!! We have had everything from acrobats to live painters to poets at typewriters to jugglers to performers in cardboard boxes to....YOU NAME IT. IF YOU CAN DO IT AT THE VENUE, WE ARE GAME. Extra points for joy, costumage, offerings, interaction, and UTTER DELIGHT!!!!

We did it at our Woodstock shows at Colony. It was beautiful...there were POEMS, GIFTS, AND ACCORDIONS. Charming Disaster did their thing in the lobby:
And Svitlana Zavialova, aka Wu Woman, painted on the Balcony:
We are doing it again for our upcoming the Dresden Dolls Play Four Weird Tiny Clubs in America tour . If you weren't able to grab tickets for these shows, this is a way in through art and creative prowess.
Our old friend from the way-back brigade days, Liz Grammaticas...and BRIGADE ALUM (she's the dead Marie Antoinette on the ground)
....is now part of the Dolls and AFP team (!), and will be organizing the brigade for this tour.
OK, here's the info.

...INFO From Liz!!!
We are looking for 3-6 performers for each night.
Ideally, we would like to keep the same performers for all three nights helping to keep things smooth & streamlined, plus a little extra magic happens with this longer residency. However, if you can only make one or two nights, and have an extra awesome idea, we can probably make it work....
Each of these venues are small, unique and carefully chosen for this intimate tour. Use that!
All talents and ideas are encouraged.
Brigade acts can be musical, silent, roaming, or tucked into little niches and corners activating the venue and the audience in entirely different & exciting ways. If you don't have performer talent, you're very free to make gifts and give them away to the crowd - that's something that always delights. People can set up instant-poetry tables....the weirder the better. MAKE ART! MAKE POETRY! OFFER LOVE! PAINT PEOPLE! PAINT PICTURES! OCCUPY BATHROOM STALL! CUT HAIR! Go nuts. It's gotta be ... legal.
To be part of the brigade for this tour, contact me with the location/dates you are available and a clear description of what you're proposing.
Links to previous work is appreciated and encouraged! This isn’t a paid gig, but if you need extra dough to travel or lodge yourself, we may be able to help.
You will (obviously?) also get tickets to the show, help with whatever we can tech-wise (electrcity, parking, places to put THINGS) and you're VERY free to put out a hat and busk (ask for money) and some give tips to a local charity. This isn't about the dough, this is about the joy. It's always been a sloppy blast and we will do whatever we can to support you.
Send all your thoughts to me, Liz, at: drawsomethingawful@gmail.com. Make sure you specify WHICH CITY, WHICH NIGHT(s).
PLEASE BE PATIENT getting a reply. We have NO idea how many people are going to hit Liz up, so don't worry if you don't hear back right away, it's gonna be a juggle.

See below for additional venue info.
DENVER, CO May 19-21st.
A Victorian brownstone, with previous lives as a brothel, sex shop, and peep show before becoming Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox. The venue flaunts this history in a cheeky and sex positive way. "boudoir-chic historical remix'.
SANTE FE, NM May 26-28th
"The venue is impossible to describe. It's part David Lynch, part Disneyworld for grown-ups, part 80s acid-trip video game, part immersive Edinburgh Fringe venue. YOU WILL LOVE IT if you've never been there."- Amanda
Many of you may already be familiar with the folks of Meow Wolf. They are an arts production company that creates immersive, multimedia experiences that transport audiences of all ages into fantastic realms. Google the space if you've never heard of them. **Please note the current exhibition will not be open or accessible for the shows.**
ORLANDO, FL June 16-18th
This brick-walled intimate venue used to be a jazz club and a supper club before becoming the indie club and venue the Social. This is the Dolls in Florida. Seriously let's bring it.
NEW ORLEANS, LA June 23-25th
This theater in the heart of the French Quarter is between an old timey PHARMACY MUSEUM and a CATHEDRAL. The building was originally built as a single screen cinema it has been a thriving music venue since the 1970's.
