SECRET EDWARD TOUR NEWS! and...CANBERRA NINJA BIKE-RIDE GIG #2! (Patreon)
Content
hello loves.
**BEFORE I SAY ANYTHING - if you are anywhere in SPAIN near tarragona (on the coast just south of barcelona) and you want to be a volunteer in a film i'm helping make...SAVE THESE DATES: march 10-11! more info asap.**
ok now - greetings from melbourne, where i just spent until 5:30 fecking am coddling a crying teething baby and canceling a day of rehearsal/writing at the bakehouse because....sometimes you gotta just sleep in and say I AINT GONNA WRITE ANY MUSIC TODAY. i took this picture this morning and i have to say...it's moments like these that my life feels pretty goddam blessed, sleeplessless or no. i am sitting in a cafe in melbourne australia on a warm sunny day, writing on vintage postcards that i bought from an old old man in a square in havana, cuba, and about to send them to my $100+ patreon backers allll over the world and it's like....this is not a bad life. and i'm so grateful.
in these moments, i feel like the luckiest artist in the world. when you enjoy the act of expressing gratitude instead of ever seeing it as a burden or a task..that is when life gets very fucking good. and it feels like that.
to every single one of you, the $1 people, the $100 people, and everyone in between. you are helping me make All The Things and i still sometimes can't believe it.
......
and today, I HAVE SOME GODDAM EXCITING NEWS!!!
first of all: this is the FINISHED ARTWORK FOR THE RECORD. it's a painting by judith clute. isn't it beautiful??
if you've been following along with the patreon for awhile, you know about the album i'm releasing this spring (and by the by, if you're new to patreon, WELCOME). i'm releasing a record that i made with my songwriting hero edward ka-spel, of the legendary pink dots.
you can read the making of the record (and hear a song that i thing'd in secret to the patrons only) to catch up to speed about the project and what it means to me to be working with edward here: https://www.patreon.com/amandapalmer/posts?tag=i+can+spin+a+rainbow
next week i'll announce (TO THE PUBLIC) the album pre-order for the physical record (double-LP-vinyl and cds) and launch the patron ticket pre-sale for the tour. the vinyl has two bonus tracks, clocking in at 11 in total. tickets for patrons will go on sale on february 21st, local time. SO: mark your calendars. there will be tour dates in the US and Europe, with stops at a few festivals.
AND...(and thank you to alex knight, whose idea this was!!!) we're making a special limited edition 7" record that will also be on sale next week in the album pre-order. this release will be a **patron exclusive**, not available to the public. if any copies are left over from the patron pre-sale we'll take them on the road with us for the merch table. once these sell out, they're sold out forever.
the show will be a combination of me and edward playing songs from the album, plus both of us playing on a few of each other's songs (edward's really keen to do HALF JACK and i am creaming) and we will have a violinst, patrick q wright, of legendary pink dots fame, on tour with us.
here are the tour dates!!!! EEEE.
these are deliberately small venues! it's a weird tour and record and we wanted to keep it easy and intimate. it also means: GET TICKETS FAST.
**NOTE TO $100+ patrons: don't forget you get guest list. make sure to contact hayley@amandapalmer.net and she'll sort you! we will send you a separate poking email to remind you.**
the venues are all confirmed, but we can't announce them yet!!

http://blog.amandapalmer.net/the-best-day-ever-in-canberra-perth-ninja-gig
AS YOU MAY KNOW....i am coming back to canberra soon for a sold out show at the playhouse theatre. rat patrol reached out and asked if i would be into joining their ride again. um fuck yeah i'm interested.
WE ARE DOING IT!!!! if you're in the area, come ride with us. it's free, and i'll play some songs afterwards. CANBERRA DIY BIKE COLLETIVE NINJA GIG PART TWO. let's do this. it's BYOBike!!! children and bebes very welcome, ash is going to be there in a bike trailer!!
here are the details:
we're riding at 6pm on March 3rd!!! (the DAY BEFORE THE GIG at the canberra theater)
meet with your bike at 6pm at BentSpoke in Braddon for a ride to the lake.... while everyone is meeting up, you can get beer and food while you wait and get ready for the ride....
