MY FELLOW AUSTRALIANS - get me out of here. oh my god, seriously. this place is fecking going nuts. 

after having missed a winter in my beloved adopted homeland of melbourne due to, you know, BIRTH N' BABY, i am COMING BACK WITH A VENGEANCE.

neil and i are going to shack up for a few months in and around melbourne and sydney. i'm going to do a very sprawling tour, including a BUNCH of shows in a teeny tiny venue in melbourne called The Gasometer, and there, i am going to put my feet up, attack a piano, and hopefully ambush you with (gasp) new material that i'm going to work on as i prepare the next chapter of songwriting. i'm very excited. australia has always been good to me and i find melbourne really inspiring - i wrote my book there, i recorded theatre is evil there, and i just fecking love it.

i hope to do some patron-only events...we'll see. there's lots of possible fun.

some of the shows are in very snazzy joints (opera house! mona museum!! if you're NEVER BEEN TO TASMANIA OR THE MONA MUSEUM THIS IS A REALLY GOOD REASON TO GO!!! i'm playing IN THE MUSEUM ITSELF!!!!)...and it'll be JUST me, a piano, and a ukulele. tres intimate. i'll have the "piano is evil" recording with me. i'll hug you all as much as possible. we will carry on about the world.

(not to mention, it's nice and toasty in january and february)
