(patron-only post)

hello loves....

first quick: the dresden dolls warm-up show is SOLD OUT! it sold out within a day of going on sale, and i'm so so excited. i hope i hug a shit ton of you there.

i have a lot to catch you up on but i'm exhausted from yesterday at the proms, WHICH WAS JUST EPIC. the BBC made a little 3-minute highlight reel and you can also watch the ENTIRE show here...go feast your ears and eyes:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0431k8w?ns_mchannel=social&

i'm on four songs..."station to station" at the beginning with neil hannon from the divine comedy and connor o'brian from villagers (i tried to learn it the day before, so, not the strongest performance there, whatever) then in the middle i duet with anna calvi on "black star" - the highlight of the night for me, then i rip out a "heroes, then i'm back on stage at the very end for a singalong with marc almond (from soft cell!!!!), "after all". ash had just woken up so we brought him on stage, why not. he loved it. he kept trying to grab the microphone.  royal albert hall debut at 10 months. WHERE DO YOU GO FROM THERE, honestly?

and....you've got a Thor Thing (i've been calling it a Very Thpecial Thor Thong. and in my head, it's a sonic postcard.) hold tight, coming in a moment. performance-wise, it came out wonderfully. i was scared to listen for fear it didn't work.

and....i love you.

thank you for patronizing me.

more soon.

tired amanda

oh p.s. i bought a pair of ridiculous darth vader platform high heels for the bowie show and wore them for "station to station" and am going to auction them off to charity. stay tuned.

Anyone else having issues on the BBC page? I'm getting a message that says, "This content doesn't seem to be working. Please try again later." Bummed...really looking forward to watching the show.

The BBC iPlayer is UK only. Some of the pieces are up on the BBC Proms YouTube channel (Station to Station, Ashes to Ashes, Star Man, Heroes, Always Crashing in the Same Car). Hopefully they'll publish more of the performances there over the next week or two.

I really liked the Thing! And by like I mean I enjoyed it and it definitely also made me Feel Stuff. As most of the best art I know does, and like much of your work. I don't comment very often (ever) but I just wanted to say that I really like the patreon setup. I feel like I'm able to support the different stuff you do and also not be broke. College student, and don't regularly have the money to buy $10 of something with no other purpose than to please me (like an album). Before, I would often have to borrow from friends or pirate and feel bad, so a third option is nice. Anyway, you're great, patreon is great, and this song is great.

I actaully like this more than I thought.

Edit note: I prefer the download to not have an introduction, when it comes up again & again, it gets old. Though, it was fun the 1st time.

BBC Clip is no longer working, said there is a "temporary error"...but that's super cool you got to perform with BBC Proms!

This was absolutely worth coming in from Germany for, including a full day of queueing :-) Magic night. Thank you. (and thanks to both you and Neil for being so gracious before the show with some hyperexcited fans, some of which had never met you before and all of whose brains froze a bit when talking to either you or Neil :-)

The Prom was fab to watch on TV and I'm excited for all the Bowie fans who got to be there and loved it. I'm going to get the Thong Thing Thing now...

I keep checking back to watch and the video doesn't work :(

The RAH Bowie tribute was incredible. Blackstar stole the show, again. John Cale was badass. Marc Almond sang along to the craziest, most elaborately off beat version of Starman, Jherek and Anna killed it. Only 8 more days to watch it on iplayer folks. Can someone out there rip it?

Use any free VPN to get around the 'only viewable in the UK' rubbish. Tunnelbear is a good start.
