quick one, if you're online RIGHT NOW....

today @abortionfront have an all day fundraiser happening on their instagram live. i'll be appearing as one of their guests in a few minutes.

join us as we watch “Operation Save Abortion,” which  will raise money for independent abortion clinics around the country who are in danger of closing due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 


three out of five people who get an abortion in the US go through an independent provider and their needs within the coming weeks are extremely urgent.

we owe it to everyone faced with an unintended pregnancy to stand with them and support them, understanding they know what is best for their situation, ESPECIALLY during a pandemic.

some facts about what's happening:

  • 12 states have tried to use COVID-19 as a way to halt procedures
  • Abortion is essential, time-sensitive healthcare and can’t wait. 
  • Who decides what is best for you and your situation, especially in these very scary times?
  • In the past 10 years, states have passed laws that have closed clinics and made access to abortion out of reach for the most vulnerable, poor people, and people of color.
  • Courts keep striking these laws down, then states pass new laws. This puts clinics on a roller coaster of care, creating confusion. A  lot of people don’t even understand that ABORTION IS STILL LEGAL IN ALL 50 STATES. 
  • The same people who fight against “Taxpayer funded abortion” are creating taxpayer funded lawsuits, which they end up losing because their every attempt at banning abortion is unconstitutional. 
  • WIth courts changing, we could start losing these challenges and we should all be very scared about that.
  • We owe it to everyone faced with an unintended pregnancy to stand with them and support them, understanding they know what is best for their situation, ESPECIALLY during a pandemic.

Hope Medical Group for Women in Shreveport, Louisiana is especially under threat! It is one of only three providers left in the state. It's also at the center of June Medical Services vs. Russo No. 18-1323. A decision is said to be made by June. This clinic is the only clinic in northern Lousiana and serves in excess of 3,000 patients a year. We can't lose this clinic!

I would have gone with literally any other name. The medical procedure is necessary often, and unwanted children probability says wont do well. But is it a good thing? Like a child is? Advertising like that is counterproductive for the whole fight for Repoductive freedom, and whatever money is raised, more will likely be spent from Hate's bigger warchest. I have watched, done, and taught several of them, and my stance is clear. My thought, my feelings. Be as pro child as we can be, and it removes thier weapons. This makes a poster for them, as if it is a comodity which can be regulated, when isn't and shouldn't be anymore than any other medical procedure, many of which I actually am morally opposed to, like cosmetic surgery in non medical cases. My stance is the same on that.
