hallo loves.

greetings from 2 am after a show in brisbane and i am tired af.

well....that was....something. i did a total-request-anarchy-show, and departed from any semblance of what the fuck the plan was.

it was the weirdest, most confusing (but not?), silliest, teetering and oddest and loosest shows of the entire tour. thank you all for going "there" with me, wherever there was.

tomorrow i'll be back to the script. i had to get that one off my chest.

meanwhile BRISBANE....LET US GATHER TOMORROW!!!! (saturday, feb 1st). 4 pm!!!  til about 5:15. new farm park. next to the powerhouse. rotunda. this.

be there. got it? ok.

the show starts at 7:30.

as for TONIGHT.....

sorry, but not fucking sorry. i needed it after the last few weeks i've had maybe you did too. if you're in the audience tomorrow, you'll get the full kahoona, but i had to just be ridiculous tonight. sometimes that happens.

for anyone who's wondering what ridiculous meant, here's the setlist.

it was almost a whole show of requests....unless and until it wasn't.

ACT ONE:

IN MY MIND
MAP OF TASMANIA
DO YOU SWEAR TO TELL THE TRUTH
SMOKO (AN EXERPT)
ASTRONAUT
MY FAVORITE THINGS
BEDS ARE BURNING
DROWNING IN THE SOUND
BIGGER ON THE INSIDE
OASIS
MOTHER'S CONFESSION

ACT TWO:
COIN-OPERATED BOY
RUNS IN THE FAMILY
HALF JACK
VOICEMAIL FOR JILL
TRUGANINI
SUCK IT UP, BUTTERCUP (the new song from tasmania)
LET IT GO

ENCORE:
CREEP

LODGING AND NINJA GIG IN CANBERRA

i am headed back your way this friday for a gig at the canberra theatre! there are still tickets, so spread the word. you MUSt know people who want to sit in the dark for four hours and forget about their fucking lives at the moment?

i got you. let's do it.

we were about to book hotels and i was like: we MUST know people in canberra .... canberra is TINY, does anyone have guest rooms (or preferably multiple guests rooms all in one spot, or a whole HOUSE?) near-ish the theater? if you have crash space, email michael@amandapalmer.net, who's on the road me with me and hayley right now (YAY). we need space the SIXTH AND SEVENTH. we land late the night of the 6th of feb.

and.....canberra friends....

SAVE THE EARLY AFTERNOON OF THE SEVENTH!!!!!!!!!! i'm trying to flag down my pals from rat patrol to do a bike ride, but if no bike ride, let's have some kind of gathering. perhaps a carillion reunion? SOMETHING.

stay tuned on that. i'll do my best.

............

LODGING IN THE BLUE MOUNTAINS!!!

our gig there this coming weekend, on the 8th, is SOLD OUT. wheeee. there will likely be no time for a ninja gig, but i'll almost definitely sign after because it's such a small theater!

we may have to drive back to syndey that night, but if anybody has comfy crash space for 2-3 people at a time the night of the gig, we're game, as long as it's 10-15 minutes from the venue, which i now isn't likely. but if you happen to have couch space, hit michael again at michael@amandapalmer.net and tell him where you are.

Hi Amanda! I can't offer you or your team accommodation in Canberra unfortunately, but if you need anything else (food, a hug, wine, random props for ninja gigs ect.), I'm your girl. I'll give that email a buzz as well.

AMANDA PALMER ISN’T HERE TO FUCK SPIDERS. I’m a journo/writer, I was there last night & in honor if what a wild, white-knuckled rollercoaster ride of emotion it was, I am hereby committing myself to finding a way to get the spiders line into a story. Maybe not a headline - but I’ll do my best. You talked last night about questioning your value as an artist in a world of chaos & crisis. Please don’t question any more. Hearing someone give beautiful, powerful voice to so many things that we’ve been told we CAN’’T talk about (esp as women) - that has literally given me the energy to keep going on many days - and the reassurance to know I’m not alone! Love you.

I have two small two seater lounges, but will happily purchase enough blow up mattresses for a small army if need be - I’m out Penrith way unfortunately though...

Thanks so much for giving yourself last night when I’m sure it was really hard to do so. I know I was more than happy to hold space for you, whatever happened. I brought my pink haired 15 year old along (front row and centre) who has been a little lost and defeated lately, and she came away feeling better about life and humanity! I’m really grateful to you for that. As a midwife, I really thank you for talking so openly about abortion and miscarriage - I have the absolute honour, of being with women through both these experiences and I know we can all do better as a community for people walking this path. So biggest Love and Thank You. Xx

Thank you so much for the ninja gig, it was such a breath of fresh air and I am so appreciative that you prioritise connecting with your fans when I know you must be so exhausted. I'm so glad I became a patron and can't wait to see the full show tonight. Love you!

Is anyone there tonight willing to grab me a signed vinyl in exchange for money, hugs and a free Mexican lunch at Pepes Newmarket? Lol
