HALLO LOVES

i skipped all the TED activities last night.

i took a bath instead.

it was the best bath ever. holy fuck i can't remember the last time i was alone in a hotel rom with time to take a bath. plus some wonderful person in london gave me a bag of lush bath bombs. you bet your ass i did. i used that bath bomb. i found the hotel wine and nuts. i had a PARTY IN MY ROOM.

I WAS SO HAPPY.

then i slept 10 fucking hours and missed everything TED had to offer this morning.

it's all good.

i can't do everything.

i needed sleeps.

.......

a few notes:

THE SONGWRITING DEADLINE IS DONE!!! i will need a second to go through everything, but THANK YOU to everybody who submitted!!!! i'll keep you updtated and i'm so fucking proud of you all for ART-ING!!

meanwhile...if you are feeling like listening, don't forget that all of the submissions are PUBLIC and you can go pick favorites and make comments to heart's content while i amble over there as i have time in the next week or so. there is no hacking this system, i will not listen to the russian bots, but it will be obvious to me if things are floating to the top and getting attention because they're GOOD.

i'm still gonna look at /listen to EVERYTHING. don't forget: if there aren't lyrics incliding in your comment, you don't qualify. if you fucked up - you're allowed to delete and repost!! but now, please.

.................

i am feeling guilty that i haven't posted my reflective post-morten about the omgea retreat.

i was so busy recovering and then leaving for the UK that it got stalled.

it shall come. it needs more time than i had to give it at the moment. it wasn't a post that i wanted to rush.

if you were there, and you're awaiting it, do not fret.

...............

here's another couple amazing TED people and talks that i've discovered in the past few days...

this is Jan Radar.

she is my fucking hero.

speaking of the omega retreat, which was all about compassion, i did a workshop with jan yesterday about burn-out and compassion fatigue. i invited her to be on my podcast and we're going to do it. watch this talk...it's so beautiful.

https://www.ted.com/talks/jan_rader_in_the_opioid_crisis_here_s_what_it_takes_to_save_a_life?language=en

she tried to talk me into bringing my tour to huntington, west virginia.

she is so awesome that i might just do it.

and i can interview her firefighters, too.

god i love my life sometimes

...........

my other new friend here is paula stone williams.

i cried watching her denver talk....and have been able to get to know her over the last few days here at TEDsummut.

her compassion is so inspiring....she's incredibly grounded in herself and has the same approach that i do: you lead with kindness. what she has to say about coming to terms with her own male privilege is just goddam mind-leveling.

WATCH.

FRIEND.

I don't come here to comment very often, and i'm out of social media, so I literally only read every post from you via e-mail, but this time I wanted to take the time to simply say that I am SO SO glad you took this time for yourself and slow down. It's needed, it's valuable it's worth it. Specially these days. I'm very happy for you, Amanda. Lot's of love all the way from Brazil

I had a good time writing my song. I appreciate the exercise and I will definitely be doing a final thing with it on an upcoming record. The rest of the band digs it.

6,400 downvotes on a YouTube talk? Wow, that must have pushed some buttons -- I look forward to watching that tomorrow (when I'm at my "big" computer). Your TED talk recommendations have been awesome so far.
