EDIT: i updated the bottom of this post with information on ANOTHER show i'm guesting in tonight that i left off in my original publishing of this post. while i'm here i also added more photos. if you're wondering why you received a second email notification it's because i am using a new patreon feature that notifies you that a post has been changed after it was published.

.......

HALLO LOVES.....

jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

quick one because i'm late to get to the actual point of my day (i booked a rehearsal studio from noon to 6 pm and i'm already on hour 2 of ADMIN but this is what you get when you run your own ninja gigs and want to blog about them and and and also want to be a rehearsing musician at the same time. DESPAIR).

LAST NIGHT WAS FUCKING ****EPIC******!!!!!

andrew o'neill and i co-wrangled and co-hosted! he did stand-up and i played uke and drank wine and wasn't nearly as funny as he was.

i love me a planned-24-hour-ahad of time gig. i still owe you a few pictures and a write-up from ICELAND, i am woefully behind, but life is happening in realtime. i'll catch up in a second.

for now....

here's a short lil video of the modern maori quartet making us all dance and smile....

https://instagram.com/p/BmN-upCnSrC/

here's some photo highlights of last night care of kenny mathieson (except the maori photo from the back of stage, that one's mine).

about 300 people showed up and the space was packed and we didn't have to turn a single person away which was wonderful. we passed the hat at the end of the night and (after paying the venue staff for their wonderfulness) we split the take equally among every stage performer....

and i'm including info about ALL OF THEIR SHOWS!!!

This is the first post i've read inna while since my mother began her in home hospice. It makes me feel good to see you so happy and productive. I am a bit distracted by this new turn in my mother's journey but it fills my heart with joy to see you spreading your passion all over the place!

hi Amanda, how many time do you will stay in Iceland?

Oh Amanda, last night was awesome. I got your email Monday evening, booked train tickets and a hostel (which amazingly, was across the road from the venue!) and I was there last night, just for you. It's my first experience of Edinburgh festival and my only regret is that I didn't arrange to have more time there, especially for tonight's show, which I didn't know about in time *sadface*. So I'm back home, tireder than a tired thing, but definitely planning to do it again sometime. Thank you Amanda, for getting me out of my comfort zone, it took a lot of anxiety-beating to do such a spontaneous thing, but I did it like a BOSS, and you helped me do it <3

If you could, at Friday’s performance, say a little word to my kids Emily and Jack who will be with their dad watching you. I was supposed to be with them but I am in Spain as my mum passed away on Tuesday. It was all very sudden and they couldn’t come with me to say goodbye to their granny.

Question: Would a Fringe Ninja gig be a Frinja gig?

Katt

So much life, all happening frenetically, all over the place! xxx
