HALLO LOVES

firstlies, welcome to a handful of new patrons...i assume you wended your way over here because of the judy blume video. HELLOOO!! WELCOME!! it's nice here and you're about to experience the overwhelming joy of getting lots of rambling emails from me. excuse the typose.

today: i'm in the recording studio in cape town recording a bunch of piano demos and surprises (you'll be getting one of them soon)....and if you MISSED the amazing and shambolic talk live from the studio last night. it's archived HERE: https://www.facebook.com/WeAreTheEye/videos/2006306736361173/

..............

the judy blume video is doing effing beautifully on the internetz, it's racked up 20,000 views and nick offerman from parks and rec said it made him cry, so i feel like i can die now...keep sharing it around! i'm so very proud of it.

..........

meanwhile, THE UK/IRELAND DATES are about to go on sale to patrons only, bloody hell, its TIME TO GET TICKETS. by the time you read this the links will probably be live.

these shows are going to be intimate and piano-y and wonderful...i'll be working out stuff for the upcoming record, signing after all the shows, and probably be ASH-FREE (eeeee) because neil will hold down the dada fort in london while i travel around with andrew o'neill, this beautiful heavy-metal-comedian-in-a-dress that i know many of you already know (he's AMAZING). andrew and i will undoubtedly come up with hijinx.

so here we go:  here is the info and links for the patreon presale. tickets go live for patrons at 10 am GMT (london time) wednesday.

read carefully.

and yes, before you ask...there is no london show, since i just played union chapel (and for you new patrons, thanks to the patreon i WEBCAST that show and it was fantastic, and now that you're a patron you can go HERE and watch the shit out of it.

A Conversation with Amanda Palmer and Lauren Beukes

The upcoming February lectures conference, held at UNISA in Pretoria on 22-24 February, will explore how South African queer lives, engaged writing and theory intersect with the narrative(s) of the contemporary moment. A number of texts will be discussed, including the works of Lauren Beukes, as well as the film, The Wound/Inxeba. For more info, see www.februarylectures.co.za.

We are very excited to announce a special session, entitled “Lauren Beukes and Amanda Palmer, in conversation”, on Thursday, 22 February, at 16:15.

A very limited number of seats are available for this exclusive session. The first 40 people to send their names and SA ID numbers, along with the special password LaurenandAmanda to februarylectures@gmail.com, will be able to attend the session for R200.

"excuse the typose." so cute! Wanted to say I am loving the Audible of #ArtofAsking!!! With your music in between sections, a chance to really enjoy you on piano and song. The story of you and Neil, and asking, and Kickstarter behind the scenes . . . Love the length of it, so get the full on AmandaBath! ;o)

My mum asked you at your Art of Asking book event at Hay on Wye a few years back if you'd ever come and gig in Wales, you promised you would and it's finally happening =D We live about 25 minutes drive from Carmarthen and snagged some front row seats, can't wait!

Really excited to go to the Dublin gig with my daughter Mikayli, she saw you in Union Chapel a little while ago. It will be my first AFP gig. Intrigued by the Dublin Literary Festival mention too. Also heard the July Blume Video, walking down our very old avenue in the dark tonight, after i put the kids to bed! So so good, there will be a 100,000 views before too long. If you need any help in Dublin Amanda, accommodation, things to do, bookshops, and all that, and anyone else for that matter, I think I saw people are travelling from the Arctic and Denmark. Its a gorgeous venue, the NCH with lovely acoustics and fairly easy to get to. Happy Valentine's all!

Happy Valentines day to you two love birds!!! (My Fred gave me the biggest bouquet of roses ever! Our 33rd Valentine together. Jeez Christmas trees, it was almost as big as me! I'm not that big, I'm kinda little.) I truly loved the discussion last night, even tho' I stayed up way too late for me to be getting up for the day job in the morning, and my eyes were wide awake open like big old tea cups when I went to bed, my little brain was forever shutting down!!! But I was still energized today, wasn't dragging my old peaches at all (work was stupid busy today, I hardly had a chance to sit down!) Anyway, Yay! I'm looking forward to reading new books and following a new emerging hip-hop star. Love n' hugs!

I love the fact I am getting the chance to come and see you in Birmingham but a bit gutted that by being a patron and buying my tickets early I ended up with tickets at the back. The main thing is I actually get to experience you live anyway, can't wait!
