first of all...thank you so so much for all your beautiful love-art-life-progress-whatever comments on my maudlin/revolution post the other day. i see you. you see me. this is working. i'm okay. you're okay. we're all gonna be okay. every night for the past three nights i've been trying to do a "goodnight moon" periscope and every night i fall down dead. it'll happen. i promise.

it was inspiring to wake up to THIS this morning...lin-manual miranda is on the accelerated art tip, too. YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!! WHY WAIT? MAKE ART NOW. fuck it! i'm making bumper stickers.

i am halfway through my 67 boxes. i have found

-8 chapsticks
-3 copies of the same brene brown book
-4 lost ukuleles 
-56 pieces of unread fanmail

1) I AM PLAYING AT THE O+ FESTIVAL IN KINGSTON, NY TONIGHT!

i'll be playing some songs and talking with the founder. i'm bringing my dad. it'll be wonderful. the festival is a revolutionary idea: health care providers trade services for MUSIC and ART! it's an amanda-palmer-dream-come-true. the whole fest is pay-what-you-can. if you want to learn more, watch this, it's truly inspiring:

i am about to release A LOT OF FUCKING ART. i am not kidding. there's been so many backlogged projects and videos and exciting things being made over the summer and for some reason (don't ask) there's about to be an explosive harvest of THINGS, PLUS i've decided to add these patreon-fueled recording session-things. maybe it's the season. that being said! i'm about to put out 2, possibly even 3 things per month.

DON'T MAKE ME HAVE TO FEEL GUILTY ABOUT PUTTING OUT TOO MUCH ART!!! there should be no such thing!

IF EVERYBODY CAPS THEIR MONTHLY PLEDGE AT WHAT THEY CAN AFFORD, I WILL NEVER, EVER HAVE TO QUESTION WHETHER I AM PUTTING TOO MUCH ART OUT!!!! got it? so seriously...if you're a $5 patron and you need at cap at $10, do it. if you're a $1 patron and you need to cap at $2, DO IT! do it. do it. do it and tell me you did it. if you all do it, i can make art like a maniac and send it through the firehose of the patreon and never find myself having to think like a marketing and PR company instead of an artist who's trying to put out art as it's finished. got it?? -the changing trees and the wind in and around them

-ash, who said his own name for the first time yesterday, but also threw up all over the bed

-the guinea fowl who survived (there are 5)

-neil, who is trying so hard to be a good dad right now even though he's maxed to the gills with work

-very strong coffee

-michael, my fucking incredible assistant, who is proving to be a godsend in helping make all of my lives work and integrate together in a way that i couldn't have imagined. while i'm at it...neil's assistant, stephanie. the two of them are helping us row this family-art-boat-of-doom to shore. 

-small sticky notes

-oral medicine for herpes cold sores!!!! i mean, with a video coming up, i was like REALLY? YOU ON MY LIP NOW??? but...magic!!!!

-my dad jack and his wife donna and my younger half-brother alex and his girlfriend shabnam for being at our hidey-house in the woods and helping with the dishes, and the baby, and the cooking, and the shopping.....and generally being lovely and wonderful because we are so goddamn strapped. 

-fall fires. the daily ritual of making and lighting a fire is helping my heart.

-the guardian. i read you every day i can and i thank you for existing.

-women who come out and talk about annoying sexist-power-play-shit that has happened to them even though there's no upside. THANK YOU. the world, it will change.

-all of you
