I’m currently in an automobile on my way to Philadelphia for dolls show #1 …. and the weather feels about as weird as I feel inside my skin. Pouring rain then sunshine then rain then sun. Systems colliding.

I had a nightmare yesterday in the early morning. The sort of mundane panic nightmare that’s so terribly mundane it kicks you in the bottom of your soul. I was so grateful to have loving arms around me and a chest to weep on. I’m so grateful to have all of you. I’m so grateful to have these shows coming up. I am so glad to have lighthouses all around me as I row row row this boat in the dark dark dark.

I need some Dresden Dolls song therapy as much as the audience does, apparently, so I’m brushing off some old canons from the arsenal. Boston. Truce. I need to play these so I can open the heart floodgates and RAAAAAGE!!!!

On a similar note, I’ve been training and boxing in the run up to the tour. It’s nice. I had no idea how much I needed to physically punch soft things to let go of some of the pent-up aggression I’ve been carrying around.

We got a truckload of GREAT offers for gathering spots in Philly, including a CHURCH, from a RECTOR (and believe you me, I'm collecting all of these for LATER)....and we have LANDED ON A FINAL SPOT, and MASSIVE THANKS to patron Kate Gordon - via my ask-y ask-y post - for tipping us off about the Ruba Club...I cold emailed them and they know us, got back, and we're GOLD!!!

Dear D.C.: we are 99% locked into a spot RIGHT NEXT TO THE VENUE, so hold 2-4pm on Saturday June 15th and we'll send word ASAP about the details.

Lets call it 1-4pm. 1pm doors, I'll be there taking questions, playing and signing from 2-4pm, late entry is fine!, but try to come early if you can so we can all gather and sit and talk at the same time! I will happily sign anything you wanna bring.

The club fits up to 200 people so it should be perfect. A reminder that this is PATRON-ONLY. When was touring with the dolls in the south, I was a little looser about announcing these on social media because most of the gatherings were outside and had limitless capacity...this is different, so please don't spread the word to the public, or if you want someone to come, get them on the patreon, please. :)

-we will have MERCH HONESTY BAR!! Michael and I grabbed a box of random solo merch (books, posters, prints, cds, vinyl) and we are gonna just spread it out and put suggested donation amounts. Cash or venmo! There’s an ATM at the bar.

-The bar will be OPEN! Please tip your bartender.

-Anyone under 21 is ALLOWED but MUST be accompanied by an adult!!! Just be respectful, this is a bar. No pets.

-FOOD is ok from outside!! Bring anything you wanna share with me and one another. No outside drinks, please.

-be creative!! If you make things and wanna bring other objects to share with patrons, go for it.

-There will be a mic and a stage and, as usual, this will all be OFF RECORD. I'll take questions, play, talk, ask you things, and basically COMMUNE.
