We're finally here! #64 marks the end of a chapter. I'm not really sure which one, nor if I'll start naming the future ones differently. All I know is that after this, I'll start uploading smaller scenes for a while.

These scenes will take place over a couple of months. Some will either highlight important stuff that is happening, some tiddy goodness or just both! And most of them will have a small snippet or a brief description of what is happening. And I gotta say, I really like a goood chunk of them. And actually... as a patron you can already see them! They are just without their story/description yet. There might be more on their way, I've got at least one that I'm finishing up. But I'll make a separate posts for those.

10th of May 2016 - (10 days after #63)

It was a regular Tuesday, another morning where Susan would pack up her own bread for lunch. However she was not alone in the early morning, her mother started at a similar time. The double set of footsteps on the staircase made it clear both her father and mother were coming down. Nothing unusual, Susan thought.

“Oooh look at her Ben! She looks so great in those scrubs!”

“Ann, it’s half past 6… You don’t have to yell…”

“How could I not? It’s our daughter Ben, finding her life’s work and being so self sufficient… I-... I can feel my eyes tearing up!”

Susan turned around to her mother wiping away her tears. “M-mom… I’m right here.”

“Oh of course!” Her mother walked to the kitchen besides her, kissing her daughter on the cheek. “I’m so, so proud of you.”

Susan felt her cheeks flush. With a grunt and a forced smile, she hoped to continue her business. Her father joined them, standing besides Susan. As is the usual ritual these past few weeks, Susan handed him the sack of bread so he could prepare the bread for Annika.

“What your mother is trying to say is… we’re just both glad that you’ve found something that you really like. We had our reservations initially, but now it really does seem like it was the best option for you.”

Susan looked up to him, her smile ever so genuine. He returned the gesture, knowing not to push it too much. However Annika continued her gushing.

“Gosh… You’ve changed so much over the last year, it’s crazy! I-in a good way of course, the best way. Your confidence yet modesty, how you carry yourself and your growth physically too-... Ah!”

Her mother paused, her mouth running past her rational thoughts again. She watched in complete silence as Susan looked at her. However, her daughter’s face was the complete opposite of what she expected. Instead, Susan smiled and nodded.

“Yup!”

She simply returned to taking care of her sandwich. Annika leaned back, staring at her husband with the biggest ‘Did you see that?!’ look on her face. Ben simply shrugged and returned to his task as well.

“Ahh... and then Nathan. My god he’s so adorable- and caring! He’s such a good brother to his twins- I bet he would make a great father to our grandchildren!”

“M-mom! Please…” Susan yelled out, her face definitely red this time. Taken off guard, she was unsure of how to respond.

Her father cleared her throat. “Ahem… as eager as we are to have grandchildren, we certainly don’t want to pressure you or assume stuff like that.” His gaze sent shivers down Annika’s spine. “Just do things at your own pace, that has always worked best for you.”

“Y-yeah. Thanks dad.” Susan closed the lid of her lunchbox, holding it with her upper arm as she grabbed her drinks. Before walking away from her parents, she leaned over and kissed her mother on the cheek.

“Thank you too mom.” Walking away from the two and prepping her bag for travel, Susan could hear faint whispers behind her. Her guess would’ve been that it was about how she responded. A chuckle escaped her lips, realizing it was due to Nathan’s light-hearted teasing that made her more steadfast over the months.

“Alright. Mom, dad? I’ll probably be back before dinner.”

“Okay honey! Good luck with the training!”

“T-thanks, you too with work.”

They waved before Susan walked off out of their vision. With her jacket on and all the important items double-checked, she moved forwards. The front door closing behind her somehow feeling different, more definitive.

Susan paid it no mind however, she had her future to look forward to. One that she couldn’t wait to find out what exactly it entailed.
