After taking a brief break for two weeks, I’ve decided to take it slow. I was already, but now without guilt or pressure. All those projects and suggestions will be done eventually. When time is more favorable (hopefully xmas break). And to mostly use 3D for stuff I’d like to see, and to just mess around.

And after talking with a good friend about Emi, I felt like remaking her post-pregnancy body. The one after the current, in-progress pregnancy. I often like to work ahead of ‘the curve’, and with my ever increasing interest in post-preg bodies, this feels like it was bound to happen!

I used the word ‘remake’ because I already did, a good few months back. Mostly because my friend managed to make me curious enough to try. And as you can see above, it’s pretty much the exact same body as the full-term one, minus the 6 babies. And the issue lies there.

As some of you might remember, I made a post about redoing my character rigs. Since then, nearly everyone (who I still regularly use) uses that rig… except for Emi and Aya. Mostly because they still serve their purpose fine, and because I’m not sure if I’ll be able to recreate their breasts to look similar enough. And with Emi in the midst of her pregnancy (and a lot of the poses already done)... I’d rather wait for a better time.

And that is post-pregnancy! The new rig allows me to modify the body in its entirety (rather than the upper thighs, knees, and calves be separate objects). So adjusting the thighs is as easy and streamlined as the breasts. And man, does it make a difference! To be fair, I’ve already spent a good amount of time on the new rig (see Sidney), but for Emi here I started from scratch, rather than reusing my work on Sidney.

And man… Emi does really look like mommy now! In all the right ways. Go look at the images up close here!
