Life as a Creator

Hi... I've missed you. I've been swamped with work. I'm starting to feel the pressure of wearing all the hats as an independent creator. I'm a voice actress, audio editor, graphic designer, and marketing director. And now, with the acquisition of my first sponsorship, I'm a copywriter and video editor, and I must read thoroughly through long contracts and exchange several emails.

Additionally, I've been editing my first collab, which feels more like editing an audio drama than a simple roleplay. Add a fast-paced action scene and three roles, and you've got days of work on your hands.

But I am living my dream, which is why I am able to stick to this work. Those that know me know that I am a very unfocused person. I tend to drop a hobby as quickly as it begins. But roleplaying is much more than a hobby. I feel more than fulfilled doing this work; I feel alive. Each roleplay feels like an art project, and I am happy to spend my days bringing stories to life.

What Have I Been Working On?

You're probably wondering what has been taking so long. The bulk of my time has been spent working on my upcoming collab. I planned to upload it sooner, but one of the VAs had some trouble recording. That was not a problem, as I would rather we all take our time to create beautiful work rather than rush the process. In addition to the delay, the audio simply requires a lot of editing. I have finished splicing and piecing together the vocals and just need to add sound effects and ambience, which, due to this being a complex audio, is taking a while.

I also spent a lot of time editing Bubbly Girlfriend Does Your Skincare. Not only did I record and edit the vocals; I also recorded and edited the soapy, creamy, wet skincare sounds separately. Much of the editing consists of timing the vocals and SFX correctly while other time is spent adjusting audio quality, adding audio effects, and researching techniques.

This week, I spent most of my time editing Best Friend and Her Cat Compete for Your Attention. While this audio did not require as many sound effects, it took a while to edit because 1.) it is a longer audio and 2.) I created a campaign for a company to attach to that audio on YouTube. The campaign required a lot of coordination with the company and some writing, graphic design, and video editing, which took a few days on its own. Then I needed to edit the audio, which took a few more days.

What's Next on Patreon?

I promise that I will post more exclusive audios here on Patreon soon. I want to finish editing the collab first so that the release is not delayed any further. (The VAs are waiting too!) Then I will work on the Flirty Boss sequel, which is already recorded, and my next exclusive standalone. I have an idea of what the standalone will be, but I don't want to make any promises until it is recorded. It will be a sweet treat with a hint of spice.

I also plan to upload a blooper reel here soon. I meant to upload one last month, but blooper reels require a fair amount of editing too, and I wanted to focus on editing roleplays since I was behind on uploading. But just know that a blooper reel is in the works.
