Hello guys, we are discussing about a possible Merchant Tier coming very soon.
We have to make sure it works well for our supporters and at the same time for us.
What do you think about it?
Do you have advices or experiences on this topic? Let's discuss in the comment :)

Depending on the cost, I would be in for it. Would it also include the bigger models?

Anonymous

I would be very interested as well. What kind of pricing would that tier be?

SteveWasEre

Are you thinking as a tier for the ability to sell prints of your models?

gary

Tell me more what's in the package

Frederick A Williams

It would also have to be limited to x amount, say 10. Not saying 10, just using that as an example.

I would like it very much. I am just barely starting my 3d-printing as a very small side-business. The problem I see though, with all my various Patreon supports, is that they would add up very quickly. I've seen printers license tiers for as much as $30, $50, and even $100. I simply would not be able to do that. Even the licenses for $20 a month...add several patreon artists together and that's a huge sum of money, without knowing if I'm going to sell Anything from that artist. I'm starting off with Fat Dragon as that license is actually free. I would like to add some of my other favorite Patreon artists, but I must be cautious.

I would like very much to be able to have the option of selling the miniatures of the designs you have, they are spectacular and I am sure that this option will be a success

ArtisanGuild

Yes, once we create a Tier or find a way to release them, we will edit the description of the Merchant :)

ArtisanGuild

Some Patreon pages offer it for 40, we estimate that 29 (first 30) and 35 is a price worth of the values. It will include giant models once we do them :)

ArtisanGuild

You can sell the prints of all our files, you receive everything (even future giant models) :)

I m sure that 20 $ is a good price for a patreon merchant tier regarding the facts that - we paid 1 tier to get the files - We have to print the minis ( payng the resin the electricity time to prepare the print ...... ) the minis are a great quality by the way I'm preparing the print right now

ArtisanGuild

In the end we decided to include it for 29 (early 30), it's bases on other Patreon pages and it's still a competitive value :)

Kilroy

I personally don't feel that the merchant tiers in most patreons are very consumer friendly. I don't plan on selling the prints so it doesn't affect me but 30+ a month for 1 persons patreon doesn't make much sense on the grand scheme for business owners.

ArtisanGuild

I see your point Daniel, I guess that people who get that Tier plan to sell 10+ models per month and recover from the expense easly :)

Kilroy

Either way you guys are doing great work!

Teevee

I have recently had some interest from people wanting minis, but as I live in a small town then my income stream is unlikely to reach or exceed the amount I would be paying extra for a merchant tier. I feel merchant tiers are good value if you are operating a business, but not for hobbyists like me who dont have the time to operate a business.

ArtisanGuild

Hello, I'm sorry for your issue. Our suggestion would be to start advertise some nice print photos on the web and once you build up potential costumer (or pre-order, even 1 month before) you move for 1 month the the Merchant Tier to sell the prints :) This way you can be a Merchant just when you need it.

I've signed up to give this a try. $29 might feel like a good price from the creators point of view - but when this is compared to the $25 I pay to Duncan Shadow, with his significant back catalogue, $29 is expensive. The advantage with Patreon, if the models aren't popular enough to sell in comparison to the others I'm supporting, I can cancel the sub. It's an expensive gamble which I hope pays off!

Teevee

That may be more effective when the library is larger in abyear or so.

ArtisanGuild

Hello Chris, thanks for your feedback. I tought that his Merchant Tier was 40, not 25. Our prices had been based to the overall "pricing" of most Patreon Tiers. Let us know how it goes please :)

Haldane Creations

Duncan's Merchant Tier is $40 now but for all the merchants before it is still $25 a month.

Haldane Creations

We are looking to do the merchant tier soon...but I do feel the $29.00 is high but I am counting on the fact that Artisan Guild will increase the model count fast or offer the merchants something more to increase the value for them :) Keep up the amazing work we like what we are seeing from you guys :)

Haldane Creations

Ok went ahead and did it :) Haldane Creations has joined the Merchant Tier .... is there a Licensed Printer/Merchant Logo yet? so we can promote that we offer your models? and is there any marketing layouts done and where can we find them? Thanks

ArtisanGuild

Hello, and thanks for joining! :) Actually the only marketing pictures are the one seen in the last posts (or description page), so I guess we should make something. Being still at our first month we are still learning this aspect. Could you point or link via private message a good example of what you would need? About License, the Merchant Tiers says: You can Sell the Prints of our models (but never the files or links!) as long as you stay in this Tier. So it would not be valid unless we make a new one each month. Any idea? :) thanks

Haldane Creations

Maybe a logo for Licensed Printer that shows an email or web address to verify if a printer is in good standings with you....not sure adds a lot of work on you guys maybe just a logo with your web address on it so people can contact you about a printer and go from there.

Haldane Creations

Several designers just do a logo with licensed printer on it to deal with this some examples can be seen here www.haldanecreations.com//pages/license-printer and some have much more extensive ways of doing it that are over kill :)

Haldane Creations

Oh on the marketing stuff just high end renders that are branded with your logo is all you need...do all sides and group shots should do the trick and you can get more creative as you grow ...just my view is all :)

ArtisanGuild

we even have turntable for our heroes :) preparing that right now... stay tuned for the next post :) At the moment we can't take picture of individual regular (example Marauder), our list of sculpt to finish is too large, but will try in a near future.

Chad Sax

Just wondering if you have plans in the future to allow more Merchant slots to be open?
