Due to once again being naughty and less than punctual with delivering bonus materials, I've decided to make the first part of this new 2-part tutorial available to most patron levels. (Part 2 will be up shortly at the tutorials level.)

If you've ever wanted to learn all about the non-glamorous parts of Captain D-style video post-production (which is normally chock-full of glamour!) this is the tutorial series for you.

TUTORIAL: Post-Production Workflow - Part 1 of 2

In this first half of the workflow overview we: * Record voice-over in ProTools and edit it * Import our footage into Media Composer and create assembly and rough cuts * Export shots for VFX and prepare for compositing in After Effects

amazing

LOL, I just noticed that the stuff I say about production days at the beginning doesn't make any sense. I say it's currently Wednesday and that I'm going to film on Friday, but the taskbar up top shows it's Tuesday and later I say I'm going to prepare for "tomorrow's shoot." I've never had a very good grasp of time.

Do you record everything at a higher frame rate for speed ramping, or do you plan for speed ramping in advance and shoot just those shots at a higher rate (to save disk space)?

CaptainDisillusion

I'm tend to only ever speeding things up, so no need for extra frames. Everything's shot at 23.976fps. On the rare occasions when I need to slow things down, AE's frame blending usually does a decent job.

will there be a part 2 or is it already up, and it is me who is just blind :)
