You might think that if a conference generously provided you with footage of your talk, it would a simple matter to assemble the 2 camera angles together and export the video.

But you would, of course, be wrong.

Because nothing is simple in the world of CAPTAIN DISILLUSION.

A world in which I feel compelled to get the timing of every cut just right, to include full-screen inserts of the projection visuals, to mix the audio from the board and the room mics dynamically throughout the talk and to seamlessly remove a few dead pauses. Above is the timeline of the 46-minute video ready for export.

It will be uploaded and available for patron viewing first thing tomorrow!

Can't wait. Thanks for putting all this work in to make it the optimal viewing experience :-)

I don't think your patrons would expect anything less than your exacting, nit-picky best. :-)

Looks awesome! I also eagerly anticipate your follow-up video that consists of *nothing but* the dead pauses, awkward stumbles, throat clears, audience coughs and so on. That's totally happening, right?

Appreciate the effort Cap. It was inevitable, knowing your high standards Alan, but well worth a little delay; thank you. Those dead pauses are a little disconcerting (we do try to be polite to guests over here; even foreigners, sometimes! ;¬D ) but I expect you meant just general proceedings, delays etc. Hope you enjoyed your Europe break. We had some fairly good weather (!) while you were over but nothing, I should think, compared to on the continent.
