This one's for eeeeverybodyyy. I figured I'd cover something basic that any user of After Effects could benefit from.

Thanks for this. I'm a new patron and am excited to see stuff like this.

So many hours lost in AVS cheapo video editor doing all of this manually with my math brain (eg: creating masks in GIMP instead of free hand in the editor), then I move onto Sony Vegas and it's like being able to shift matter with your mind! Stuff like this reminds me how easy the top end software can make this.

While I'm not likely to use the info, I still love seeing how it is you do what you do!

It had never occurred to me to create the keyframes first, then do the animation. I always did it one keyframe at a time, like the previous ones had to exist first. Great tips, thanks!

I almost always hand key my animations as well UNLESS it's something like Squigglevision stuff. Thankfully I found this script someone wrote. You seen it? https://vimeo.com/17863639 (I used it in a promo video for one of my magic effects and it works great)

I'd definitely love to see more tutorials like this that cover the creation of certain motion graphics elements/transitions/etc. For instance, how did you go about making the CD logo transition effect that occurs at 4:19 in the Cicret bracelet Debunk video? It looks a little bit like block fractal noise with the color having been manipulated in some way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbgvSi35n6o

I pledged just to get access to tutorials and you did not disappoint. I make things pop in and out all the time, this is so useful.
