Update 10/22/22:
The beta build is finally "done" and attached. I underestimated how easy it would be to simply replace the old furniture system with the new one. The old system is still largely in the same state with a small preview of the new system implemented. Each individual furniture script has its own dependencies that need to be trimmed. For example the way the dildos "target" each sex bot is with a preprogrammed reference, with the old system I would manually enter that and keep the dildo hidden, with the new system the dildo won't exist unless you place it on the desk so the newly created dildo has no idea how to target the sex bot. I'll need to go through and fix each furniture piece so that it doesn't rely on preprogrammed values before the new desk setup can proceed.
This week I experimented with replacing the transform gizmo entirely with the drag and drop system as well as finished up some functionality for the UI and fixed desk setup so that it uses the new inventory, drag and drop, and save file system.
Dropping a toy into the scene will now cause the toy to look at your mouse position until you click again, this is an experimental replacement for the rotation gizmo which was a bit too unintuitive in my opinion. Toys can also be dragged from any of their body parts to be converted back into an icon. Owned toys can be dropped into the inventory for storage or into the store to be sold. Rented toys will be returned to the store when dropped into either window. Dragging either toy back onto the floor will cause it to be moved to the new location.
The desk setup now uses the new system. It's in a kind of limbo right now, using the old and new system, Mangle's shop isn't technically necessary under the new system since I could implement a shop window in the desk setup as well. I'm not sure what to do with her, she's less convenient but has a novelty value over a simple UI window. The new system might also make it possible to purchase multiple's of the same desk items, I'm heavily considering adding more consumables like a battery pack that recharges energy when clicked.
