Some progress with the Salem Retex of the 1640 Gown.

I placed and aligned the underlay from the original photo on the model in SP.

I will have to make up a part of these details to complete the whole bodice. In the finished bodice I'd like to add some extra lace geometry and sleeves extensions to match the Salem outfit more.

I decided to do the skirt embroideries using different types of textures. The central one is an edited free floral texture which I got online - hand drawing this would take much too long. The outer one is actually the middle piece from the bodice, exported, cut out and turned into a seamless texture in Photoshop.

Funny thing - the outer texture keept crashing Substance Painter. I had to delete it eventually. It seems that if you put a greyscale 8bit jpg into SP it will crash. So beware!

I also managed to add a strip of ruffles between the underskirt part and the overskirt part.
