Sketch Wednesday has come again and inevitably, dear friends.

I was wondering if you enjoy this event less or more? ;) Feel free to leave a comment if you like.

This time I want to present you a ballpen sketch made four years ago on a trip to a 19 century sanatorium. The marvelous historical structures launched me straight into the late victorian mood. I did four sketches about a late victorian lady on a journey.

Wish you a nice second half of the week guys!

And thank you for supporting my projects :)

Of course like it! Sketches, the process of creation, concepts, sources of inspiration, everything related to the victorian era - it's all very interesting!

Many thanks Alexey :) Glad that you're interested in these topics. According to our last "favorite content" poll, downloads and wip posts are the most liked. But I try to put out also a little more about the creative process, since I like it the most ;) and maybe you guys will find some of these infos useful.

I am interested in everything related to the Victorian era. Because I find these times the most beautiful. At one time, I was even fond of the reconstruction of those times. We held events in several cities of Russia and also staged a theatrical setting in Ukraine. Those were good times, which left so many vivid memories. :)) Regarding the survey, I think that mods are mainly important for many. That's why the result is in favor of downloads and publications. But one does not interfere with the other! Content variety is always cool! :)

That's very interesting what you say about reenacting. Sounds great. Was it like a kind of cosplay or larp? I also like 19 century very much, and the marriage of engineering and romanticism. On one hand, it was a tough time for my countrymen, since there were lots of conflicts occured and the class society was really divided in terms of living conditions. But on the other hand, fashion art and architecture never wore such a beautiful and elaborate costume again. What is more, 19 century designers actually used all different styles from prehistory up to to their times. Which is totally awesome for me. I love to study details :)

On historical reconstructions, a significant event is being recreated. And the more realistic the event is recreated, the better. This is an indicator of skill in this aspect. Look on the net. This is a pretty interesting topic. In my case, this was a military performance in which more than a hundred people took part. Personally, I had a scene with a duel with rapieres and a small dramatic remark. Regarding difficult times, I would like to ask a counter question right away, but when were they not difficult ?! At all times, humanity suffers. As always, there were and will be class divisions. Only before did the commoner know his place. :)) When it comes to dress, art, architecture - it was truly the best time. You are a wonderful person! In our time, there are so few people who take an interest in the history of that time at all. Not to mention getting inspired by the right things.

Wow thanks :D I am very flattered. Oh I know so many talented craftsmen and craftswomen over the web. I wish I had the patience to be a rl tailor or shoemaker ;) My partner is a clothing designer and we both love to do some research on the historical topics. And in the end I do clothes in 3d ;) Ok, as for the events you mention I know them just as "reconstructions" - some friends of mine do that. Love these people. Most of them prepare their clothes and equipment themselves by hand :)
