Hello Bourbons and Habsburgs.

I'd like to introduce you to a major group of artists that inspired me very much from the very beginning of my modding work. To The Old Masters this is.

Namely, I'd like to mention some of the famous 17 century Dutch and Flemish painters. Here is the first one of them - Gerard Ter Borch.

His father Gerard Ter Borch the Elder was also a painter. The younger Ter Borch first practiced by painting poor people, but soon, when he finished his education, he started to receive commissions from the wealthy families.

You can really see how people lived when you study his scenes. For example you can notice a wooden heating box under the skirt of a lady in one of the examples I chose. The climate was really cold in the Netherlands in the 17 century. That period was called a Small Ice Age.

I really love to watch how he painted the dresses and fabrics. He paid much attention to the clothes and details. I really like to browse his images to study the fashion trends in the 17 century Netherlands.

Hope you like my picks :)

Have a great week guys!

K.
