It's time for some finishing touches to the Victorian Cape Neck Piece textures in Substance Painter. Time to decorate the plain mesh material with some nice floral embroidery.

At first I thought I would draw the whole thing by hand, but I came up with an idea of drawing just a fragment in a vector graphics editor and then distribute it all over the neckpiece main form as a stamp - only rotating and trimming the drawing. I like to leave things a bit random and rough to make it look more like hand-made ;)

That's why I prepared a custom alpha for the brush and hand placed the pieces creating the embroidery mask. Then, I set up the material properties - diffuse: black, specular: 50% grey, height: 50%, opacity: 100%. I've got to tweak the materials a bit more soon.

I'm still debating if to do the beads with geometry or to leave this embroidery layer a bit flat as it is now.

More progress soon :)
