This week I'm doing some minor fixes to the MDP Outfit to prepare this (not so very pleasing for me for various reasons ;) yet still interesting) project to go public next month. Before publishing it at Nexus I'll upload the updated version a bit earlier for Habsburgs. Thanks to Tinaa I've got some nice testing feedback and there are some things I'd like to refine.

Also, what you can see in the pictures is an interesting discovery I made while painting weights in 3dsMax.

  • If you did the skeleton and body setup like I described in the first part of our Outfit Creation Guide, you can grab a bone and move it around freely creating a desired pose to paint the weights very precisely, and after you're done just import the skeleton once again and the pose will reset. Ta daah! :D It comes in handy in particular with finger rigging and skirts.
  • Another thing I learned is to weld the body vertices below the skin modifier (especially at the geometry seams). Otherwise things may become uneven at the seams - not in 100% of cases but once a while.

More info on the updates soon.

Enjoy your Sunday guys!
