The concept behind My Hero Academia, that you can be held legally culpable for damage done by your superpowers (or Quirk as they’re called in the show) in your pursuit of another using their Quirk, or just their normal human abilities, to commit crimes. What fascinates me is there’s no latitude as far as I remember for life-threatening situations where you can use your Quirk to save your own life, and if you do, not only are you on the hook for the damage caused but you can be blacklisted from working as a “legit” licensed Hero. Also, any people who aren’t licensed but still act heroically, as in stop or help stop a credible threat, are branded as Villains themselves. It’s a very dystopian society when you look beneath the veneer of celebrity it initially presents.
