Regarding IVF and a CHM being willing to pay for it - I believe (but may be wrong) that in New York, it's no longer legal to attempt an IVF transfer of more than 2 embryos at a time. (At least that's what we were told by our clinic.) So reductions don't happen as much here anymore. Beyond that, though, the IVF process also creates numerous embryos that are destined to never be brought to full term, which would be another point that a CHM would likely use to refuse to cover treatment.
