My question: what good comes from any criminal investigation? They go on for years. Are expensive. Sometimes result in a conviction. Perhaps jail time. How, then, does jail compensate the victims? These are the same arguments offered here. I think locking him up in addition to financial reparations should be the bare minimum. White supremacists will use whatever decision us made to formulate a pro-Trump rationalization. If he is not charged, they will see it as proof that it was all a lie. I don't believe there is any possibility of bridging the gaps. None at all, regardless of what is decided.

OK, I'm a month behind on these podcasts, and I listened to Part 2 FIRST (not deliberately). But this made me so angry I couldn't even get through the entire first part. Why are we always like this? Democrats, liberals, sane people - whatever you want to call those of us who aren't right-wing crazies - are always so TIMID. We can't do anything, because... what might happen if we tried? Meanwhile, I keep hearing people say what's the use of voting, because the Democrats will never do anything anyway. The fact is, I don't CARE about the political ramifications of investigating Trump. If someone breaks the law, they should be held accountable for that. And that should apply to the rich and famous - and the politically powerful - even MORE than it applies to everyone else, if anything. Presidents should be held to a HIGHER standard than the rest of us, not... no standard at all. Wow, it's a good thing I listened to this after the Dems took Georgia and Biden/Harris were inaugurated, or my blood pressure would be even higher right now!
