Thomas porked it again, choosing (D) when the correct answer was (B).  He's now 112-for-205 (54.6%) and on a four-question losing streak.

Ooh, I couldn’t find a way to just comment directly on this post, hence posted my own question and a new thread. What is the ‘Consideration’ in this contract?

The four chairs are the consideration for the buyer's promise to pay. The $600 is the consideration for the seller's promise to manufacture and ship the four chairs.

So the promise to pay the $600 is consideration in the initial contract? Because there were no chairs or money exchanged by the time the email was sent was there?

Correct. A promise to pay is consideration unless it's a sham, just like the payment itself.
