FYI, real time captioning is an access service for deaf and hard of hearing (DHH). It's as fast as court stenography, but designed to be easier to pick up. It uses a regular keyboard with various predictive text and shortcuts. Designed at RIT for our DHH students. Alas, I think it will overtake stenographers because it's easier to learn and doesn't require special equipment. Also, it makes me feel like a goddamn idiot because after each lecture I get to read *exactly* what I said.
