In Her Own Hands 0.3.0 available to $5+ Patrons (Early Release) (Patreon)

Hello, Patrons!

The new version of In Her Own Hands (version 0.3.0) is now available for all Patrons at the "Surprise Me" level ($5) and above. The game (with any bugfixes necessary) will be released to the public one week from today.

Based on the results of the Patron-only poll that we ran last month, this update will focus primarily on three lines: "Devilish Dad" and Shaun (which tied for first place in the poll) and Abby (which came in second place). While there are also a few short "surprise" scenes in other parts of the game, the extensive character and story development on these three paths reveals compelling content and media across multiple events and locations. A brief changelog will appear at the end of this post. The complete walk-through will be posted for Patrons at the "Delight Me" level ($9) and above later this week.

We also, in this version, further refined the Wardrobe system. We have received quite a bit of feedback regarding the Wardrobe system, and we are trying to simplify the system without losing some of the functionality that will come into play throughout the game. The most significant change we have made with this version is removing the forced Laundry system. The game will no longer track clean clothes vs. dirty clothes, and you will no longer be forced to do laundry in order to continue. We do still have the laundry room, and you can still do laundry, but it will not be necessary and will not have any impact on the game (at least for now). We hope that this makes the game more enjoyable!

With this update, we also created an experimental method for updating saved games from earlier versions. While we have tried it with our saved games, we would love to hear how it works out for you! In the side panel menu, there is now a link for a social media app. When you click on it, you will see a link to update your saved game. Use the link AFTER you load the game you would like to continue. This will initialize any new variables or functions that are needed for the new version of the game to operate properly. ONLY click the link once!! You can, of course, view the app without clicking the link.
