To better help fans understand the ongoing development, monthly status updates are being posted here on Patreon (at the end of each month) with a listed summary of all the work that's been done for each department. It won't list every single small change, but at the very least show the broad strokes of what's currently being done. This will paint a clearer picture of the development progress and perhaps get a feeling of how close we are getting to a release each month. Hopefully this will make some of you feel at ease with some of the questions you've had.

That being said, here's the status update for this past month!

Art:

  • Assets made for anal Crystal sex scene variant.
  • School classroom reworked to allow layering of all desks and chairs.
  • School classroom crowd remade to match the new improved look for background characters.
  • Added additional crowd layers to the Museum locations for extra variety.
  • Smith office cutscene converted to night.
  • Mia sex scene and stripping assets extended to widescreen.
  • Converted some of old Roxxy assets to the new rig.
  • All minimap icons now have overlays covering the outlines where trees and other objects overlap them to give depth.
  • Anon assets on the pier fishing and diving properly split shadows and extended.
  • Extra shorts overlays for Roxxy sitting on the bed created (were previously missing).
  • Roz's name tag now properly flipping where character changes direction.
  • Missy's home location now has evening and night variants added, as well as all buttons for navigation.
  • Created art for the future Rhonda update which was also used in a recent wallpaper.
  • Continued assisting the Code/Posing devs with optimizing art and fixing inconsistencies. Such as unused art assets , missing shadows, missing character button variants and so on.
  • Additional rooms are being worked on for the Bar and Missy's house.

Code:

  • Finished writing logic all of Debbie and Jenny's repeatables. \o/
  • Completed the hint app, and connected it to Debbie and Jenny's routes.
  • Added scrollbars to the phone apps to make clear when that action is possible.
  • Improved lust mechanic tracking which will govern some random events.
  • Posed telescope scenes and linked to wiring.
  • Added support for compiling animated layers, and used it to animate pool water.
  • Revisited how modes are implemented to make them more reusable.
  • Moved the GUI in a more dynamic direction to work better with modes.
  • Cleaned up NPC tracking for first-seen quests.
  • Refactored some entity behaviours to allow for saner organisation.
  • Simplified NPC name prompts for Debbie, Jenny, and Willow.
  • Tweaked step definition to allow for steps that do not advance progression.
  • Enabled engine features to improve text quality.
  • Ensured telescope scenes won't conflict with NPC actions.
  • Made it possible to sleep at the beach house.
  • Wired basic button for Lily.
  • Applied a new higher priority to fully-passive handlers.
  • Moved common logic helpers to a new module to eliminate name conflicts.
  • Changed where dynamically generated logic is stored to aid migrations.
  • Shifted the inventory implementation to a more generic interactive prop.
  • Brought various interactive prop implementations up to the current standard.
  • Improved code organisation for some of the interactive props.
  • Added a test to catch accidental misuse of new passive priority.
  • Wrote a new lint rule to catch unused context being passed to handlers.
  • Fixed notifications not being dismissed if clicking too fast.
  • Applied potential fix for apps bleeding over between windows on PC.
  • Fixed a class of bugs related to time ticks being prematurely cancelled.
  • Solved a problem where some backgrounds would be the wrong time of day.
  • Reduced some unwanted background TTS triggers.
  • Created new system for tracking which lewd options are available in events.
  • Dropped disused mutex governing NPC movement.
  • Various fixes for Jenny's route, Debbie's route, and prop metadata.
  • Other minor improvements to help keep the codebase readable and consistent.

Posing:

  • Restructure and link Jenny dialogues to the new game logic (in progress).
  • Tweaks and adjustments to Debbie's linked dialogues.
  • Tweaks and adjustments to early Main story scenes.
  • Tweaks and adjustments to the Tutorial scenes.
  • Revisions and additions to dynamic shots .
  • Minor art renames to fix oversights.
  • Fixed some out-standing issues with Jenny's route and sex scenes.
  • Taken screenshots of all the missing assets/backgrounds for Jenny/Dewitt/Main Route 2.
  • Added new labels for Jenny's Shower RNG.
  • Fully reposed Dewitt's Route minus a few button labels needing staging.
  • Fully reposed Dewitt's Sex Scenes.
  • Fully reposed Okita's Route.
  • Fully reposed Okita's Sex Scenes.
  • Continuing posing on Barbara, Crystal and Clyde.

Writing:

  • Wiki has been updated with current character assets and walkthroughs.

Hi when I am trying to install the game it says the game is not installed cuz it is not compatible with the device. Someone Kindly let me know how I can overcome this.

WOW! its been a year since even a mini update, let alone this "tech update". Stop making everything so complicated. It was brilliant and good enough at the start, its only a NSWF game and doesnt need the detail your putting into. Speed things up and finally give something back to the fans.

Okay from I quickly read, idk if this is scope creep or are you like unable to predict how much time tasks take, but you're doing a lot of work that is not really a priority for the fanbase and even though this has been communicated as only a "tech update" adding random stuff. Which if it only slows you by a little bit, that little bit is now months of development seeing as the last big update was literally 2 years ago. For god's sake just rewrite the codebase, it'll be fine we don't need fancier texts, sleeping at beachhouses or being able to snoop on debbie's laptop ;-;

Slowly getting into the concern territory. Appreciate the work their doing but at the same time wondering now if their just milking patreon subs for as long as they can. Like is new content ever coming?

I'm just curious - why did you choose to change your development methodology from Agile to Waterfall? This is clearly not a small project, so Agile would've continued to deliver small changes to your customer base, keeping us happy...

When this started, Darkcookie did this themselves. They aren't a programmer, they're an artist. The tech update is literally rebuilding the game's codebase while keeping current features fitting. Once it's done, the created engine base and practices will speed up dev on this and future projects.

2023-10-30 06:56:24 Reading these comments its really clear a ton of you guys are having a very tough time understanding that these things take a lot of time. Uncharted drakes legacy had a budget of around 25 mil, and a team of 3 expert AAA programmers working 24/7, and much more efficient tools, and it still took 2 years, and contained 7 hours of story, 17 for %100, which is half as long as summertime saga at 17 hours for story, and 28 for %100. with only 1 indie programmer credited, and 1/500th of the budget, the progress they've made so far has been very impressive and consistent. Have more patience
