This came out six months before Top Gun, and took away any reason for me to ever see Top Gun. Of course, this movie is Air Force, and Top Gun was Navy, which, of course, is better than Air Force.

I loved both Iron Eagle and Top Gun as a kid. They both totally made me want to be a pilot. But I have to say that Iron Eagle was my favorite as a kid more than Top Gun. I think that family wholesomeness was definitely part of it, and being a kid was more relatable. Iron Eagle II is also a movie that I loved even though the story is a little different, but still worth a watch I think.
