Please go see the sequel. PLEASE do it. Judging by how much you loved this one, you are really going to enjoy the new one. Everyone I know (including myself) has come out shocked by how good it is. And girl, I feel you on the Val Kilmer thing. I was OBSESSED with him as a kid. Anyone who screams like that for him is my new best friend and needs to see the movies “Real Genius” and “Top Secret.” Especially since you love parodies, you’d really enjoy “Top Secret.” So dumb it’s hilarious.

Other Tom Cruise movies: Gotta say my top two favorites are Jerry Maguire and Interview with a Vampire. But I also enjoy: Cocktail, Rain Man, The Last Samurai, Minority Report, and Edge of Tomorrow. For a fun sing-along, watch Rock of Ages - he's got some pipes! Also, just re-watched Vanilla Sky on HBO Max, not his best work but an interesting story.

For Val Kilmer movies, I agree with others Top Secret and Real Genius, but also, The Ghost and the Darkness, The Saint, and The Doors.

John Williams

And yes. I am going to mention it. Another movie related to Navy aviators (No flying) is An Officer and A Gentleman. Please watch

James Falato

A "Guy Flick For Chicks"!!!

John Williams

"I can tell you, but I would have to kill you" is a common phrase in the military used to say that I can't tell you about something because you don't have clearance.

Rain Man and Jerry Maguire are both Tom Cruise movies with quotes you’ll probably recognize. I also like Cocktail, even though it’s cheesy. Also, it would be good for you to see the new one in the theater. The thing you’re really missing out on with some of these movies (but not all) it’s the huge theater experience with the sound, huge screen, and audience.

You'd also need to check out the Rambo series, at least Rambo II to get some of the jokes in the Hot Shots parody movies, at least in Part Deux.

Kenton Kruger

Still can't see the title of that movie without thinking of the scene from The Simpsons. "Tell him I'm going to the back seat of my car with the woman I love, and I won't be back for ten minutes!".

Brandie Woodward

Rain Man is an excellent Tom Cruise movie. Along with a Few Good Men. Tom Skerriet was Drum in Steel Magnolias. Also my great grandfather was a rear admiral in the navy. He was one of the men who came up with the cable that caught the planes on the air craft carriers to help them stop during landing.

I've only seen that movie once way back when it first came out, so I don't even remember it. May have to check it out again if it comes out on a streaming channel I watch :)

Kenton Kruger

Not everyone's cup of tea, but I love it. And like the movie or not Tom Cruise kills it in that one.

Meredith Shivers

Someone had a good idea of having the polls be by decade, that way a lot of great, new movies can be introduced to the audience.

If you were asking how much they paid to get the rights to the Danger Zone, like to buy the rights for an existing song? Kenny Loggins wrote the song FOR this movie. So, naturally, they are going to use it as much as possible.

Aside from the fact he is hardcore Scientologist, he has kinda just played the same character in most movies for the last 15 years except Les Grossman. Though for nostalgia reasons we saw Topgun: Maverick and really liked it.
