Oouga

Kiera Knightley, also in Phantom Menace (the double as you recall) and Titanic

Kel

I’m so so glad you did this movie because I haven’t seen it since it came out and I forgot how much I love it. Watching along with you is always a fun time as well. I also forgot just how often they reference scenes from the actual ride, and that tickled me repeatedly. Now I want to go to Disneyland haha.

Emil Aderskog

About the part where he throws the chain over the rope, he just keeps his hands together to create more slack in the chain and tosses the excess chain over the rope and grabs that to hold on to.

Emil Aderskog

I hate to be negative, but please stop looking at your phone during the movie. Or don't, it's your channel after all, but it is rather frustrating to watch as a viewer.

Kenton Kruger

Prepare for a bit of a mobbing having the nerve to say anything negative.

Mark Finley

I'm not sure who you are thinking of, but she was not in Titanic

The pirates franchise are my favorite Disney movies.

The Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland inspired this movie. As far I know, the only part in the movie that reflects what's on the ride is when the prisoners are trying to entice a scruffy dog with keys in its mouth.

Dooly

A Pirates Life For Me originated from the ride. The song is used throughout the film. And if I’m not mistaken, there’s a bar scene in the ride as well.

Hi Dooly. Thanks for the reminders. I forgot about the song. I went to Disneyland more than a decade ago and didn't remember everything

Sean Zaccheo

Please do watch the rest! 5 in total right now.

Shadowcat

There's a few other things as well - the woman in the nightdress being chased by a pirate when they sack Port Royal may not be an exact duplicate of what's in the ride, but it's definitely a nod. The scene in Tortuga when Jack and Will first arrive and there's a bunch of people on a balcony drinking and people sitting on barrels of rum with a woman pouring rum into a man's mouth is also something I remember from the ride. And finally, when Jack and Will are rowing through the cave on their way to rescue Elizabeth and there's treasure all around and a skeleton with a sword through its back, that is almost directly from the ride. There may be more than that, but those are the ones that I was able to spot.

Wow, that's a lot of things that must have fell out of my brain over the years. I'll check to see if there's a YouTube video of the Disney ride. Maybe if I see it again, my memory will be triggered.

2023-03-18 05:18:55 If you like this kind of adventure, you should also watch The Three Musketeers - 2011 version with Logan Lerman and Orlando Bloom... Oh! And The Count of Monte Cristo 2002 version with Jim Caviezel & Guy Pearce :). You'll love them both!
