I hadn’t seen this movie since it came out in the theaters, but I remember loving it as a kid. Rewatching it now with you makes me realize that my love of it probably came from my massive crush on Val Kilmer (which is why I begged my parents to take me to see it in the first place). I enjoyed the watch along but I agree with you on the 3 stars and your reasons for that. One thing that did stand the test of time in this is Val. That man never fails to make my heart flutter when he smiles. Or speaks. Or looks into the camera. Or just breathes.

I'm surprised no one has suggested "Krull" that's one of my favorite classic 80's fantasy flicks.

Cool that you’re wearing a Cher shirt since she and Val Kilmer had a long dating history. Even after their relationship ended, they are still extremely close as friends. He even lived with her after money issues and when he first got sick.

For Val Kilmer and getting it, and also one of my favorite female love interests in an '80s film (on par with Diane Franklin as Monique in Better Off Dead), you have *got* to see Real Genius.
