My sister and I performed SISTERS for our parents all the time!

Thanks, for some reason your comment finally made it click where I'd seen this song performed before, the sitcom Mad About You. That's been bugging me for hours now.

If you loved white Christmas you. Have to watch singing in the rain you’ll love that one…. It’s considered to be the best movie musical ever made

I didn't see much American TV from 90-2000, so I missed it. I've seen the song referenced a few times. I always love it.

I love this movie, but there are a few funny inconsistencies. It snows worse in Southern Vermont than in Northern Vermont (I'm from Northern Vermont, six miles from the Canadian border). You don't use a spade on snow. Spades are for dirt. Shovels are for snow. When I was a kid, I had such a big crush on Danny Kaye. I found out this Christmas while watching this with Mom (we watch it every year) that she also had a big crush on Danny Kaye while she was a teen. And I think it's great watching you discover Ol' Blue Eyes himself, Bing Crosby.

The thing about a minstrel show is they were often done in Black Face, so not very acceptable nowadays.

Mad About You is old but great. I'd say, honestly, one of the best comedic-while-realistic marriage comedies (not centered on dysfunction or the trope of one dumb partner dealing with a smart partner... just comedic escalation of situations or giving laughs over things we really do/see that are silly. It's quality drama in there to balance it, but again not in a heavy handed way. It's a a nice mix.).

Sounds like it's NOT for me. I don't enjoy couple dynamics in sitcoms; I much prefer ensemble work. Thanks for the description.

Christmas Holidays were always White Christmas and whatever other "Christmas" movies were on television - "It's a Wonderful Life," "Miracle on 34th Street," "The Bells of St. Mary's" (Crosby and Ingrid Bergman - Ilsa from Casablanca)," even "Going My Way - also Crosby and the actor who played Clarence in Wonderful Life - altho it isn't a "Christmas" movie. I recommend any and all of them for next Christmas season.

This is THE Christmas movie for me and Im watching it again with you this year
