Upon request, my parents took me to see this one for my eighth birthday. I loved it. They were concerned. 😆

With a lot of the creatures in Halloweentown, you'll see a lot of famous movie monsters represented - you see a werewolf, several witches, a preoccupation of vampires (no but seriously - there should be a term for them like they're a school of fish or something lol), an axe murderer (um sure!), and also the weird mermaid thing that's I think meant to represent the Creature from the Black Lagoon/deadly siren kind of sea monster. With Boogie, I think he kind of represents both the gross-out factor that kids love with wiggly bugs and such, but also the Boogeyman, so he's a shapeless entity that can just become whatever the kid is afraid of. Also, this movie is HELLA old (came out when I was in high school - oof), but I still adore it - and they still sell scads of TNBC merch on all sorts of sites. Everything from watches to t-shirts to backpacks still! Which, honestly, is pretty impressive - but like you said, it really speaks to the timelessness of the story. You can watch it whenever you feel like having a giggle or listening to the music or just squeeing over how adorable Zero is. So happy you enjoyed this one! And it'll be interesting, what with having Edward Scissorhands coming up soon - tbh, I think TNBC and ES are the two most important Tim Burton movies to watch (and Beetlejuice, but you already watched that one and hated it - which, fair lol), so you can kinda ignore the rest of his stuff. Please ignore the rest of his stuff lol Except maybe Sweeney Todd, but that can wait for a lonnnng while. lol

Santa didn't "blow his nose". It's from the poem, "And laying his finger aside of his nose And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose..."

Ashleigh I'm gonna need your movie timer to calm down. It's running at like 3x speed. My brain only works at like half speed at best.

Time for you to have a look at Sweeney Todd by Tim Burton :D

“I think he’s feeling empty because he’s a skeleton.” That had me laughing for a good five minutes. After a really bad day at work, I so needed this.

Man, I didn't realize Nightmare Before Christmas was a three hour epic. Lol
