Zooey Deschanel is absolutely captivating in this movie. This is where I first became aware of her. Great performance.

The doctor who does the DNA test is played by Jon Favreau, who plays "Happy," Tony Stark's bodyguard in the Iron Man movies. Dude has done well for himself as a producer and director.

The expert they bring in is played by Peter Dinklage, who played Tyrion Lannister in Game Of Thrones (that dude is awesome). Also awesome is Kyle Gass, better known as 1/2 of Tenacious D, who plays one of the editors at the publishing company who participates in the meeting.

Overall, this movie became an instant Christmas Classic for me. Funny, heartwarming, and could actually touch the sentimental part of anyone who might be so inclined.

Just a personal thing, but I've always seen him as tedious and unoriginal; goes for the obvious low hanging fruit laughs. That said, I would rate this the most watchable, enjoyable thing I've seen him in, and would watch it again.

Oh this is just perfect timing. I finally watched this movie for the first time last week. Every year people kept telling me to and I was like “Yeah maybe.” So this year I did and I loved it, I laughed so hard. I’m glad you enjoyed it as well!

This is actually the first thing I’ve seen her in where she didn’t annoy me so badly I shut off what I was watching. Normally she just rubs me wrong, but I have to agree that she’s great in this.

My friend’s dad is a rabbi and won’t watch Christmas movies. I leant her the dvd after she watched it with us and her dad LOVED IT!

Millennial: “It wouldn’t be Christmas without Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story, and Elf!” Uh, yeah, well, there’s a reason for that: They’re the only three biggest holiday themed movies Warner OWNS (Disney/Fox has Miracle on 34th St., Paramount has White Christmas, and Apple got a hold of Charlie Brown), and the only ones they can sell every year, and their marketing department going to make danged sure you REMEMBER them. Lemme guess, you also remember the words to the Miser Brothers songs, because Warner owns “Year Without a Santa Claus” but not Rudolph or Frosty? 🙄

I like to whisper too! Lolol I love this movie. It gets funnier with each watch. The other movie I like Will Ferrell in is Superstar. Oh man you so need to add Superstar to your watchlist.
