Hii Yes HELLOOOO.

I really want to get started on a once a month live stream watch along with you all and I just need to know a few things!  So I'll be posting some polls and reading the comments here to gauge when is best, how we pick movies, and all that jazz.

Of course the first couple of times might be a little rough as I learn how best do to them but you've been so understanding when it comes to that sort of thing!

What day works best for you?

I've no strong opinion as my schedule is too variable to commit to any specific time. With that being said, I'd like it to start not too late in the day. If it can be wrapped up no later than 11PM Eastern US time, that would be the best for me. YMMV.

Don't forget were 5 hours (ish) in front on the other side of the pond.

If you ever played any group video games, like WoW, weekends are the hardest days to get consistent participation.

Amy Silknitter

I just can’t do week days. I voted for Sunday, but Saturday or Sunday would be best.

Discord is probably your best bet

Matt Gwinn

I'm up until 2am EST every day so most days work for me. Fridays are the only day that doesn't work unless it's after 10pm.

Matt Gwinn

Twitch seems to work well for watch alongs in my limited experience

anytime works for me

Retired so any day works for me. Voted for Saturday.

Mark Finley

Definitely a weekend. Preferably in the afternoon

Mark Finley

Is this going to be a video that can later be edited for use as a regular upload for your channel? Hate for you to burn a great movie for us that other people have been asking for. Just a patreon only live stream chat would be a lot of fun

Weekends work best for me also. I wake up at 1 AM EST for work weekdays, so I need to watch with the Brits and their hours. Anytime Saturday is good for me though. You've got your work cut out for you to make everyone here happy.

I am intermittent. Every other Saturday or Sunday works best for me, contrarywise, every other Thursday works for me as well.

Tony Williams

Would prefer it not be on a weekend myself, since I do sometimes have a life and enjoy doing things outside my living room on the weekends. That being said, my life really isn't as fun filled as that last sentence may suggest, so whatever works best for everyone else is more than fine with me. Peace.

Love this idea! I really miss movie nights with friends, this will be so much fun!

David Rincon

Saturdays are good! Timing wise, will be the "fun" part. I'm definitely down for whatever.

T.J. Gengler

I don't necessarily care if it's edited down or not but being able to catch it later would be essential I'd think. Many (most?) of us can't schedule it to see it live and I'd hate for them to be completely unable to experience it at all.

Off topic but a suggestion for Ashleigh. Next Tuesday is 4/20 and for some of us it's considered the best holiday of the year. 420 day would be a great time to do Up In Smoke. Or maybe Dazed and Confused.

If you end up on Thursday, can I (very selfishly) request it not be the 2nd one? I can rearrange anything in my life except for our virtual Board Meetings. Youre still delightful the next day, but it's so fun to be there live. The joy I get from your live show with you just being completely you keeps me smiling for DAYS.

I work nights (which is why I'm usually late to the party on these threads) and currently have Friday/Saturday Nights off though that may be changing soon...any day is fine but daytime hours would be best and afternoons would be ultra best...but anytime is great

Eric Greenwood

Being in the UK my time zones are plus 6 hours, so that is a thing

Honestly, it doesnt really matter when you do them. Im sure people will try to be there

Monique

Fri, Sat or Sundays is generally good for me! Will be fun!

Anonymous

Honestly it doesn’t matter to me its fun to watch your channel and to have something to look forward to every week especially after work.

Gio Vidrio

Look at you just giving us fun activities! This should be interesting. Don’t know if the format will work all that well cause when Cinema Rules went live I couldn’t comment or anything it was odd. But I love this idea! Whatever makes you excited and happy Ashleigh!

Christine

You won’t be able to pay attention to the movie if you’re trying to keep up with comments. I suggest doing a little intro, then just focus on the movie, and then interact with the chat....otherwise you’ll be too distracted and overwhelmed.

Matt Gwinn

When doing a live watch along I think it would be helpful to pay closer attention to a films availability. I can't vouch for anyone else, but for me it's very frustrating to own 500+ DVDs. be paying for Amazon Prime, HULU, Netflix, STARZ, HBO, Paramount, Disney+, and Showtime all on top of Patreon, and still have to pay to rent the movie, especially if I've already seen it, and I'm only watching it to watch along with you. I know, first world problem. If you look on https://www.justwatch.com it will tell you all of the streaming services a movie is available on and how much it costs to rent.

David Crabtree

If you're going to do a live-stream watch-along, I hope you're not going to be looking at and responding to comments in the live chat. I feel that would take away from your reaction to the movie.

Kevin Mowery

On the one hand, part of the advantage of a live stream would be getting to interact. On the other hand, what you said. On the gripping hand, it's not like I don't already talk to the reaction videos.

Mark Sylvester

How about we let Ashleigh do one. See what she does with it. Then give helpful feedback.

With living in the UK I guess Sunday maybe best. Saturday evenings are busy for myself and most people I think

Piggybacking on Matt's comments.. I have joined both Letterboxd and Reelgood to keep track of what I've been watching over the pandemic. Letterboxd has a community feature and you can put out reviews and read other's reviews. You can customize lists (ie Marvel movies ranked) and give ratings. I follow some YouTube personalities and just cinefiles in general. Reelgood is excellent on keeping track of your streaming services.. which I now subscribe to 5. Hopefully that's my limit.

Phatlayces_Pcola

Also, I did my research about watch party websites.. and you can watch Youtube vids, TV shows, etc. together. I have used Scener to stream Breaking Bad, and its an excellent choice .. Good Luck!

James Falato

I'm retired so I have no problem with any day-of-the-week... Your keeping-up your Tan-fas-tic Reactions are more important than what day or time or place or clothes you wear are... Keep-On Keeping-On...

I picked Saturdays, but I think Tuesdays or Wednesdays would be better. Sundays we have early access. Then there’s the original MMM the next day. Thursdays we get early access again. Fridays are MMMember requests. So yeah, Saturdays are good, but that leaves a big gap mid-week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Wally Hartshorn

Honestly, I don't like watching live stream watch alongs. The problem is the host's attention is split between what they're supposedly watching and all of the comments that are coming in live. There's some big dramatic moment or some subtle dialog going on, but the host is busy reading and responding to some random comment about dogs or pizza or taking a trip to Paris or something.

Peter Yocum

My first reaction to the idea was that it sounded fantastic, but I think you're probably right and that it won't work out as well in reality. Can't hurt to test it out here I guess.
