oh boy was i wrong. yikes you picked a rough one.

Yay!! I guessed right! This movie is on my list of movies I turn to when I need a really good cry. I might need to do the full watch along. It's been awhile since I've seen this.

Anonymous

Sadly my arms are not long enough to give you a hug, ask hubbin to hug you on my behalf

Anonymous

Do I dare watch the full movie with you? Or just chicken out and stick to the Youtube review?

Tyler Foster

I think your episode description might be a little off!

Anonymous

🤗 it's ok, I always cry near the end of Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind, and don't get me started on the end of About Scmidt...🥺😥😢😭

Anonymous

I cry at the end of Close Encounters! My wife just laughs at me.

Anonymous

ok so i have seen people around commenting tremors, and now that you mentioned reba...

Anonymous

My brother bawled at the end of Braveheart lol

christopher brown

Sorry I can't hug you BTW the Father is in alien (captain Dallas)

Anonymous

My mom always cries at the end of An affair to remember...

Anonymous

Just got done watching. I got so sad seeing you cry. My mom is a big Dolly Parton fan to😀

Rebecca Monk

One of my all time favorite films. Yes, it's a cry-ride, but well worth every tissue in the box. :) - The fun thing that you can now experience is this - it's a quote drop holy grail. You start quoting one liners to anyone else who has seen and loved it, and you set off a chain reaction of back and forth line drops. For some folks it's quite the competition...lol.

I am all over this. I Was waiting for someone to request this movie. My wife and I have such an affinity for this movie. We are constantly telling each other "You know I love you more than my luggage". Now to sit back and enjoy this. Tears WILL flow I guarantee it!

Anonymous

This is my ex-wife's favorite movie. I still catch myself saying, "An ounce of pretention is worth a pound of manure. "

Anonymous

I only cry at the end of "Old Yeller".

Be Kind

Hey! You need to change your description paragraph in the Early Access post. It still says Aliens. 😯

Anonymous

I like how you acknowledge that mascara is kind of great for a reaction video where you cry

Rebecca Monk

Also wanted to add - this is based on a true story. It was a play written by the brother of the woman that Julia Roberts' character was based on. The real life writer/brother played the minister at the wedding in the film.

Matt O'Keefe

Did you recognize Drum the dad being Dallas from Alien(Tom Skerritt)? Jazz Hands!!!

Anonymous

I just learned that. I also learned that the nurses in the ICU room were the actual nurses who took care of the writer's sister.

Matt O'Keefe

As a fellow southerner and you being a southern woman who appreciates some pettiness, I have to ask how have you not seen this?

Rebecca Monk

Very true. I was raised in Georgia - it was practically MANDATORY viewing.

Anonymous

Oh boy, I just finished the whole thing. I think you made me cry more than the movie because it feels like we're watching together. Very good movie. Very good review!

Peanuts in Coke and popcorn in milk are both delicious mixups.

Gio Vidrio

This was a great watch, and yeah if this is how you react to this, I can’t imagine once you get to movies like Ghost, Fried Green Tomatoes, The Man In the Moon, My Girl... I can go on. Lol! But my gosh, a brilliant movie.

Anonymous

I never liked this movie but you crying made me cry :( :)

Be Kind

This was great. Loved your reaction, and yes, I cried w/you. I’d forgotten about this movie, but it was a good pick, esp considering your love for Dolly. All the actors were wonderful.

Be Kind

Just about everyone in this movie has had long careers, and you’ll see them again. Tom Skerritt, the good-looking older man, was in Alien. He’s also in Top Gun.

Be Kind

Olympia Dukakis, Clairee, is also in LOOK WHO’S TALKING (1989) & MR HOLLAND’S OPUS (1995), which I hope you’ll see eventually. Her characters always have a bit of sass.

Be Kind

Shirley MacLaine (who’s been in a bad mood for 40 yrs) is amazing! Movies I hope you’ll see: TERMS OF ENDEARMENT (1983), POSTCARDS FROM THE EDGE (1990) & IN HER SHOES (2005).

Be Kind

I’d forgotten how many great movies Daryl Hannah’s been in (the one who got religious), incl: SPLASH (1984), ROXANNE (1987) & Quentin Tarantino’s KILL BILL 1 & 2 (2003 & ‘04). Hopefully, you’ll get to all these sometime.

Michael Parker

The story is based on real events in the life of the writer of the play/screenplay " Harling grew up in Natchitoches, Louisiana, the oldest settlement from the Louisiana Purchase, with two younger siblings. He wrote the play after his sister, Susan, died from complications of type 1 diabetes. He'd been in New York for eight years at that point, a period during which Susan had married and decided to start a family, despite doctors' concerns that doing so could seriously jeopardize her health. Shortly after giving birth to a baby boy in 1983, Susan's circulatory system and kidneys began to fail. A kidney transplant from her mother, and dialysis, did little to help. She died during minor surgery in 1985, at the age of 33. Afraid his two-year-old nephew would never know who his mother was, Harling started writing. "All I wanted to do was have somebody remember her," he says"

...oh, and he's gay :P (so I assume he has track lighting?) :P

Sally Field, the mom, has been in some serious films, Sybil & Norma Rae, both hard watches. (She won an Oscar for Norma Rae.) Also many comedies w/Burt Reynolds whom she dated (Smokey & the Bandit). You’ll see her in FORREST GUMP (1994), for sure, since it’s must-see, pop culture w/many quotes.

GamerGal8684

Yup. I ugly cried watching this. It was done as a local play and made me ugly cry even worse. Since Singles Awareness Day lol is on the way you may like Kate and Leopold ( Hugh Jackman and Meg Ryan) one of the better V Day films

Anonymous

The dad is played by Tom Skerritt who you may remember as Dallas in Alien. Based on this you might like Terms of Endearment.

Anonymous

I love this movie. I think it's cause I'm southern. LOL

Anonymous

My mom looked like Sally Field back in her TV days on The Flying Nun (late 1960's). It must have been on reruns in the early 80's when I would have seen it because we thought The Flying Nun was our mom. It probably didn't help that my dad would tell us she was our mom.

Anonymous

at 17:19 "I'm not a cute crier" that might be, but you most definitely are cute tough

Anonymous

Just so you know, that good looking older man is Dallas from Alien.

Anonymous

I'm not surprised you liked this movie, it's great. In the same vein, I would recommend Fried Green Tomatoes.

Anonymous

Old man running to take a shite in this film was Dallas who got atacked by the JAZZ HANDS ALIEN IN ALIEN....HE HE!!!!!

Anonymous

This is such a great movie. But, love all the great quotes. The actress that played Shelby’s mother her name is Sally Fields and she was in a lot of great movies. She was in Smokey and the Bandit, Forest Gump and several more. But, the acting in ths movie is great.

Ken - Kendo161

one movie to encompass all of life

Anonymous

I highly recommend The Imitation of Life. It's an older movie 1950s I believe. Lana Turner version. I absolutely felt you while you watched this! I saw it when it first came out and I've seen it 100s of times, and it still gets me.

Anonymous

My mother and I would start to watch Imitation of Life (yes, the Lana Turner/Sandra Dee version) and say 'We are not going to cry this time!', but we always did.

Anonymous

I'm so glad you've watch Steel Magnolias! One of my all time favs! A friend and I can quote almost the whole movie. She loves saying "You know I love you more than my luggage."

Anonymous

Julia Roberts' dad is Captain Dallas from "Alien"! :)

Anonymous

Loved him as Strawberry in "Cheech and Chong's Up in Smoke"! :)

As a fellow ginger, I support forming a girl gang - besties for the resties

Gingers rule, although I prefer the term redhead or Auburn...

Tyler Foster

Took awhile for me to watch this because I hadn't seen the movie myself. Great review!

Tyler Foster

I'm sure others mentioned this, but Olympia Dukakis ("Clairee") is also great in Moonstruck.

Steve Salazar

This is my sister's favorite movie...well it used to be, not sure now. She cried so hard during the funeral where Sally Field loses it, the reason I say used to be is because, Later she saw Soapdish and Sally Field basically did the same scene into to play for sympathy and nobody played along and her tears dried up just i

Steve Salazar

oops, sorry...I was gonna say, just like "snap" that and ruined that scene for her. Any way just wanted to drop this story here. Love you, love the channel love every thing about this.

RebRox65
