I didn't like this week's episode of Game of Thrones. Daenerys' descend into madness felt completely forced and hollow to me, I didn't buy it at all. And I can't believe they deleted Jamie's redemption arc like that. He had become one of my favorite characters on the show because of his growth and in the end, he was back at square one. But hey, at least the memes are good! And Cleganebowl was hype as fuck.

This week's comic might have been a bit of denial on my part. I just can't imagine what Daenerys was thinking at the moment she flipped, so I drew my own interpretation. Let's reveal all the hidden details, shall we?

Devil Daenerys and Angel Daenerys are wearing actual costumes Emilia Clarke has worn in the show! Credits for this idea go to Nina:

The black outfit is from when she arrives in Westeros in season 7. She wears the white dress in Meereen in season 5.

In the first two panels, you can see a silhouette of a cloaked figure standing next to the bell in the tower.

In the third panel, you can see the figure was actually Pippin Took (from the Lord of the Rings) who, after lighting the beacons of Gondor, also rung the bells of King's Landing. If you don't know the lightning of the beacons-scene from The Return of the King: SHAME! Go watch the whole trilogy as punishment. Extended editions.

Onto the final panel!

Hyped as fuck, Davos does the Naruto-ninja-run towards Cleganebowl. I have no idea why. I just thought it looked hilarious.

You can see the horse from the final scene of episode 5 peeking through a window of a house he's taking refuge in.

In between Grey Worm and Jon, you can see a soldier carrying a box of airhorns towards Cleganebowl. I made this joke before, in "Shall We Hype?":

Gods my comics looked weird then.

That soldier, by the way, is an indestructible extra who keeps appearing in the series:

I thought it would be nice to include him in a comic as well, since he keeps surviving every single battle he participates in.

It seems like Daenerys swiped two airhorns from the box already, and is hysterically hyping on top of Drogon.

In the background next to the sea of flames, you can see a Starbucks, as a reference to last week's episode's Starbucks cup. They, apparently, have a new drink: an Oysters, Clams & Cockles Frappuccino (which admittedly sounds disgusting). Arya Stark sold oysters, clams and cockles in season 5 while training to become a Faceless assassin.

The Cleganebowl, a reference I usually hide in the background, is the focus of this comic, so I gave the yellow bowl a more prominent place this time. There's a little yellow sign pointing in the direction the event is taking place in the final panel.

That guy in the bottom right corner is supposed to be Reddit user u/Scurvybones. He played "Fleabottom Man Number 26" in episode 5 and posted a screenshot of his second of fame on reddit.com/r/gameofthrones. Since the image is so blurry, I have no idea if I managed to capture his likeness or not.

Cardboard Bran makes another appearance, of course. He's faintly visible in the window in the final frame.

I got hose numbers on the flipover in the bonus panel straight from the Game of Thrones wiki. I have no idea if they're true (they seem a little exaggerated), but it's not like I know better, so I'll trust the Wiki for now.

And we're done once again! Next week, I'll be back with the final Game of Thrones comic EVER! I can faintly hear Nintendo fans cheering.

Cheers!
