Another Isabelle comic! Forgive me for fanboying, it's just that I have put almost a thousands hours into New Leaf, and any representation of Animal Crossing in Smash is music to my ears. Also, she's a very easy character to spoof, since she's so innocent and cute and stuff. Next week won't be about Isabelle anymore, promise!

There are two little sub-stories going on in this comic. One of them is Ivysaur trying to steal Mewtwo's beer. Ivysaur is only 16 years old (or level 16, whichever you prefer), which isn't a legal drinking age, so he has to resort to stealing beer from Legendary Pokémon. In the first panel, he's looking at the bottle in Mewtwo's hand.

In the third panel, he starts to make his move.

In the fourth panel, he has grabbed the bottle and almost accomplishes his mission, but then...

...Isabelle slams Little Mac's hand on the table and Ivysaur is startled, dropping the bottle.

In the sixth panel, Ivysaur has given up and is looking grumpily at Mewtwo who has reclaimed his beer.

The same kind of story is happening with Pikachu, who tries to get some rest under the table which Mac and Isabelle are using for their handwrestling match. His sleep is roughly disturbed in the fifth panel and in the sixth panel, you can see him investigate what the hell is going on above him.

Back to the second panel! I want to use characters like Luigi, Mega Man and King Dedede again, after they "died" in a previous comic. I just can't keep making these comics without being able to use some of the most important and iconic characters. So in this comic, I tried to come up with excuses for them being alive. One of those excuses is a band-aid on Mega Man chest. Apparently, being stabbed through the chest by Ridley isn't as lethal as we previously thought. Luigi has apparently gotten his soul back and Dedede's wound to the back of his head wasn't as severe as we thought it was.

In the third panel, Kirby is rescuing me from drawing an arm-wrestling match between characters with a HUGE height difference. I quickly realized Isabelle's stool had to be a lot higher for her to reach Mac's arm, but I had already drawn it in every panel. So instead of redrawing the stool, I had Kirby rush in...

...and use his down-B move to create a block for Isabelle to stand on so she can reach Little Mac!

In the final panel, you'll notice that Sakurai is aware of Mewtwo helping Isabelle out. He's looking at him with a mix of proudness and suspicion.

And finally, once again, Isabelle's speech bubbles are depicted as Animal Crossing style dialogue bubbles. Nobody has pointed out this little detail, so I guess people don't even pay attention to the speech bubbles, huh? It doesn't matter though, I'll keep doing this for consistency's sake.

That's it for this week's episode of Hidden Details, I'll see you all next Friday! Have a wonderful weekend :)

Cheers!
