YES! Smash is dominating the headlines again!! I consider that an extra incentive to create as many Smash comics as I can. Smash is among my top 5 favorite game franchises of all time, in case you didn't know, so I'm super happy to create Smash comics any day. Which is why I'm so glad it's "hip" again.

There aren't THAT many hidden details in this week's comic, but there are still a few to warrant a blog. Let's dive in.

In the second frame, you can see Ridley's tail scythe is smeared with oil and robotic parts. Which is a spoiler for the third panel, where I reveal Mega Man actually died during the reveal trailer for Ridley. In case you have no clue what I'm talking about: you can watch the trailer here. I'm specifically talking about this gruesome shot:

Also, while we're on the subject of the trailer, in my headcanon Mario WASN'T killed by Ridley. He was just grabbed and thrown away. And his hat was stolen. More on that later. Mega Man definitely was killed though. Just look at above image. There's no denying Mega Man has been Han Solo'd.

In the third frame, you can see a whole bunch of Smash fighters mourning Mega Man. Except for Villager, who is a huge psycho. I'm referencing a meme that originated with his reveal trailer back in 2013.

A bit to the right, you can see Kirby comforting a crying ROB. Why is ROB so sad, you ask? Why, because he lost his only robot brother in Smash of course! (It's true, I did a lot of research. Mega Man and ROB are the only robots in Smash, although it took me a while to make absolutely sure with that many characters. I still hope I haven't missed a bit of lore about Snake being an android or something.)

Also, in the same panel, you can see Ridley holding Mario's hat, just like he did in the reveal trailer:

Lastly, I wanted to honor the long-lost fighters that will finally return in Smash Ultimate. More specifically: Pichu. I tried to make him hard to see so he wouldn't distract from the crux of the joke too much, but if you look very closely, you can see him holding up a fist in the fifth panel...

...and smacking himself in the face in the second panel. If this looks completely absurd to you: Pichu is a character that hurts himself while attacking. It's a joke character, but a great character to pick to make the fight a bit more fair if you're playing against someone who has never played Smash before! In this comic, Pichu is a bit of a sadomasochist.

And that's it! As I said, not too much, but enough to keep you happy, I hope! I'll be back next week, although I have no idea what next week's comic will be about yet. First, leave me in peace to enjoy my holiday damn it. Just kidding. Love you all.
