Hey everyone, welcome to the very first Hidden Details blog! I'm gonna take it easy this week since it's my first time and I wanna be gentle. I'll dive into some details of Wednesday's comic, which was about Avengers: Infinity War... Well, it was really more about the two Infinity War trailers and the fact that Hawkeye was in neither one of them.

First of all, there are a few details directly stolen fr- ehh referencing the trailers. In the very first frame, in the bottom left corner, Thor's head is being crushed by Thanos:

On the right side of the first panel, there's even more going on. Spider-Man's neck is a few sizes smaller after his encounter with Thanos we see in the first trailer. Doctor Strange has been turned into a cactus. This one was a bit of a stretch, but it's referencing Doctor Strange being tortured by - maybe - Ebony Maw, as we can see in the second trailer. It really looks more like he's being tortured by magical spears, or even icicles, but I saw a few people on Reddit saying Doctor Strange looked like a cactus in that scene and I thought that was pretty funny. So in this panel, the transformation is complete and Doctor Strange is now a cactus. A few viewers mistook Strange for Groot, which is completely understandable and really something I should have anticipated. Groot is not in this comic though! Lastly, Black Panther is frozen. This is just a stupid reference to the fact that he claims he "nevah freezes" in Black Panther, but he obviously does freeze from time to time. Cap and Tony don't have any hidden references going on, although I did want to make Cap's beard and hear extra shiny/fabulous. The little white twinkles I drew looked like pollen or dust though, so I decided to scrap that.

The rest of the panels don't really have any hidden details although I am pretty proud of my Ed Norton caricature. I would like to point out, though, that Edward Norton does indeed have a mole next to his mouth:

There are a few "hidden" jokes in the bonus panel, although they're actually not that hidden. The "related items" section is a direct nod to the /r/marvelstudios subreddit. When everyone was going mad with anticipation before the trailers were released, shitposts ruled that subreddit. Lots of these shitposts were about Hawkeye and the Soul Stone, like: "Hawkeye = Soul Stone confirmed", "The Soul Stone is this subreddit" or "Maybe the Soul Stone is the friends we made along the way". Hence the "products" on the screen.

And that's it for the very first Hidden Details blog! Hope you like to read this kind of stuff! This one didn't reveal anything shocking, but as I said, I'd like to take it easy at first. In the future I'll delve into some older comics that have some really, REALLY obscure references and details.

Peace!
