Happy Monday Folks!

Hope you all had a great weekend. It's time to give this show a go. Full disclosure, after watching this first episode, I'm not sure if I will be watching this entire series. This first episode felt really lukewarm to me. I'm definitely going to give the next two episodes a chance, but if I find myself not enjoying the show, then I will likely pivot to something else.

There's just a lot of things to cover with Shogun releasing soon and other shows I'd like to check out. I also don't think my reactions are as enjoyable when I'm feeling "meh" about a show. Thanks for understanding!

For this week, the schedule will be as follows:
MON: Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024) E1
WED: Poll
THU: Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024) E2
FRI: Wonka (2024)

NOTE: This week, I'm only doing two episodes and one movie to give myself a bit of a break. I have a medical procedure this week and want to give myself a chance to recover a little from that. Next week, I'll be posting more content than this.

As always, thank you for your support here on Patreon! Until the next one, take care and stay golden.

Original Series: Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024)

If they really felt they had to make a live action avatar series, they could have gone with any past avatar and told a new story, even kept Aang but filled in time between ATLA and Korra when he was older. Any number of things that wouldn't have been directly comparable to the original series and avoided requiring a bunch of child actors trying to replicate some of the most beloved characters from TV. Hopefully this watch along won't be too painful, but they did get one thing right in that no matter what they put out with this IP people will watch it regardless.

Honestly, Sokka is my favourite thing about this show. Yes, he is less goofy and the writing is not good but I like his dry sarcastic humor. Katara is awful. She has one and a half facial expressions, the body language of a wet blanket and a single way to say her lines.

for me personally this is a concept show, i like it, the world building in the sets are incredible, the outfits, the only issue has been the line delivery, just throws me off, but the rest is cool, my young niece is watching it with me and she really likes it, but i get that you wouldn’t, 2025 is next year, and we get a new avatar season and movie, hellllll yeahhhhh

House of Cards is a great watch

I would've also preferred seeing this adaptation from Zuko's perspective. The main storyline is just perfect the way it is.

Nat I loved you’re reaction to this. You’re real! And not giving fake reactions to what we can all tell is bad writing and mid acting.

Nah the acting for their ahe is pretty good especially Zuko and Sokka the script at some points is meh yes but that feeling you get in that specific scenes is also in the cartoon you can’t achieve the same as an animation in a live action for obvious reasons like anatomy that‘s why it seems off to you
