That was a fun watch. I heard that Uma Thurman says that she will never work with Tarantino again. A shame that we may never get a sequel or spinoff to this.

A bit late with the comment but I really enjoyed your reaction and it had me rethink a few moments in a movie I’ve seen a lot. My take on Bill is that he’s a cult leader/pimp character, a bit like Charlie Manson, only filtered through Tarantino reality. The original Assassins were a cult led by the Old Man of the Mountain, the drug use and alcoholism are very cult leader. This shifts a lot of the group dynamics into more sensical positions. Bud’s the enforcer and Bill uses jealousy and favourites to pit the women against each other. Beatrix’s quest is a spiritual journey involving multiple resurrections, wise helpers and battles against alternate versions of herself, the housewife, the leader, the failure, the psychopath, and ultimately she defeats Bill with a mystical power he has no access to because she has transcended his stories and pop culture references to become the real thing while he was always a false messiah. Two Kill Bill inspired recommendations are; Battle Royale and Bad Times at the El Royale.
