Nat, you asked about the spade symbol painted on the side of the helmets. That is historically accurate. The different units had different symbols painted on their helmets for D-Day. The fear was that, after parachuting in, the paratroopers would be scattered all over the place. Having distinctive symbols painted on everyone's helmet would help the paratroopers find other members of their own unit. After D-Day, the symbols were kept because they proved to be a simple way of helping to organize scattered troops. The spade was the symbol of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment (of which Easy Company was a part). Sometimes hashmarks would be painted next to the symbol. The position of the hashmark indicated which subdivision a soldier was in. For an example, a hashmark above the symbol might indicate first battalion, while a hashmark to the right of the symbol might be second battalion....

I’m think that the guy asking him to tap his leg when the green light came on was secretly colorblind.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it yet. But Operation Market Garden was such a bold move by the Allies yet ultimately doomed. There is a classic movie that would fit into this series perfectly for it's historic accuracy and realism. It featured many of the day's major stars and was big budget. "A Bridge Too Far" is such a classic and worth a watch if you're interested.

As a former paratrooper, I *highly* recommend "A Bridge Too Far". Well researched, phenomenal cast, great action scenes, and the best airborne sequence ever put on film, bar none. :)

Baconsaber

Seeing how she weeped at the end of last episode and here, she better have a crate of tissues for 9.

For the intro, it’s either a 3 pattern or a 6 pattern. 3/4 or 6/8. Feels 3/4 to me due to the extra 3/4 measure between phrases, but I didn’t pay a ton of attention during music theory classes.

You are one of the people who ruins every reaction to this series that I have watched over the last year. STOP saying things like this! It taints the organic reaction. Telling anyone this creates an expectation of how they should react. It’s a spoiler in and of itself.
